Holiday let management in Hampshire

Classic Cottages is a holiday letting agency established in 1977, that remains a family run company to this day. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and the personal service that we provide property owners and guests alike. Our marketing and IT teams are on the ball to maximize the online exposure of our portfolio of properties; from a rural cosy bolthole for two, to a dog friendly family property by the sea. We use professional photographers to ensure all properties are captured in their best light, showing off all their features without misleading guests - updated when needed at no additional cost. Our highly experienced administration and booking office teams ensure that everything runs smoothly and you receive your monthly payments on time, every time. You will have your own online account to oversee everything that happens, from live availability to booking info and finances.

Our website receives about 2.5 million visitors annually so if you decide that you would like us to market your holiday property it will be highly visible. We are a VisitEngland Quality Accredited Agency, which gives reassurance to both owners and guests that we maintain the highest standards.

How much can I earn?

Buying a property to holiday let is a very sound, tax efficient investment; your guests effectively purchase your property for you and you can visit and enjoy it for your own use whenever you wish. The short break holiday market has increased significantly over the past few years as everyone likes a special oasis on the horizon to look forward to. This has increased occupancy in the out-of-season months, further boosting your income.

Each property is different, so we wouldn’t like to say what you'll make without seeing the property with our own experienced eyes. We can tailor the rent to match the property and help you make the most of your investment with free, no obligation advice and a full financial projection.

What should I buy?

Hampshire has some fantastic villages and market towns that make a great base for a holiday in the county. Coastal properties are always popular but do not underestimate the appeal of a luxury woodland hideaway, or a cottage next to a village green.

Allowing a dog(s) will definitely increase bookings and having a wood-burner extends the season. Good walking country from your door is very much appreciated and a walkable distance to a pub/restaurants/village shop/farm shop will help guests make their mind up when choosing between properties to book.

A thatch looks great and excites that chocolate box feel, especially to overseas guests looking for something quintessentially English, but bear in mind there will be extra considerations for insurance, wood-burners and barbecues. Parking is important to our guests, so unless you're in a stunning town centre location, try to ensure there's private parking available. The bedroom/bathroom ratio makes a difference too - they're paying for luxury and convenience, which does not involve sharing a loo between seven people...

Comfort and luxury means the little decisions are important, like choosing 5ft and 6ft beds instead of a standard double to increase perceived value.

Why Choose Hampshire for holiday letting

Hampshire boasts pretty villages, England's ancient capital, The South Downs National Park, and The New Forest National Park which extends down to the coast and the vibrant Georgian town of Lymington. Exbury Gardens has magnificent and rare species of rhododendrons and azaleas whilst the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu has over 250 cars including the earliest motor carriages and sleek sports cars to marvel at. The Isle of Wight is unique; the minute that the ferry or hovercraft leaves the mainland you have that exciting feeling of having left the country, Hampshire certainly has a lot of great places to visit and explore.
