Get in touch about letting your property

FAQs

How much can I earn?

Every property is unique, and we love that. This does mean that in order for us to give an accurate income estimate we always advise to get in touch and speak with one of our experts and arrange for them to visit your property. This way we can give an honest estimate and advise, whatever stage you're at with your property. For full details on our rates and policies click here.

What services are included?

When letting with Classic we don't like to leave any stone unturned, committing to the highest service from all of our departments. This includes the full support of your own local area manager, a property administration team, a full sales and support team, marketing and IT experts as well as customer services and financial support, all in house.

What do I need to get in place to make my holiday let compliant?

There are a few legal requirements you need to check off your list when preparing your holiday let:

1. Annual gas safety check by a 'Gas Safe' registered engineer

2. Inspection of the fixed mains wiring every five years

3. All other portable equipment inspected visually every three to six months and serviced regularly by a registered electrician

4. Fire risk assessment carried out by a competent person

5. Property and contents insured to their full value including public liability insurance

How do you deal with maintenance emergencies?

We have a member of the team on duty 24/7 so should there be an issue, it won't be an issue for you. We understand that there is no such thing as a faultless home which is why we have local experts who are on hand to solve any property problems that come our way.

Am I free to use my cottage whenever I like?

Of course! As your home it's completely up to you when you'd like to use it. Anyway, where's the fun in having a holiday home if you can't have a holiday (or a few!) in it with loved ones?!

What commission do you charge?

We charge 20% commission for all of our cottages. We get paid by results, so it's in our interest to make the most of the commission you pay, that's why we only take on your property if we think we're the right agency for you. We know we're not the cheapest but as there are no hidden extras.

And your contract length?

We recognise that circumstances change and therefore our contracts run for a calendar year at a time. We send out new contracts every spring for the following year.

What happens if we get problematic guests?

It's our job to make sure everyone is happy. If there is the odd issue, we're committed to looking after the holiday makers on your behalf. You can be involved in this process as much or as little as you like, from being guests' first point of contact, to sitting back and letting us full manage every aspect of your holiday let or we can find a comfortable level of control somewhere in between; our partnership with you is paramount.
