Classic sponsor the South West Coast Path 2026 Photography Competition
In the newsFounded over 50 years ago, the South West Coast Path Association works tirelessly to protect the incredible 630 miles of National Trails - from Minehead at the foot of Dartmoor in Somerset - to the charming harbourside town of Poole in Dorset.

Many of our self-catering holiday homes in the South West lead directly onto the path itself, giving our guests a chance to step outside and immerse themselves in stunning landscapes and nature. The path is one of our most precious wildlife corridors, home to a wide variety of wildlife with much of the land beside the path designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and it also passes through many nature reserves.

The path is maintained alongside co-ordinated projects with Trails Partnerships so the many hundreds of thousands of walkers can enjoy it every year. Each year it costs £1,500 per mile to maintain and keep the path open, signposted and in good order. That’s an astonishing £945,000 per year just to keep the path in existence.

The path follows the coastline of Exmoor, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset with varied geological scenery along the way, taking in cliffs, harbours, beaches and coastal villages and towns. In particular, the geology of the Jurassic Coast in East Devon and Dorset stands out as a designated World Heritage Site, stretching for an impressive 95 miles and considered to be the only place in the world where you can see unbroken evidence of 185 million years of evolution. There are some amazing geological highlights along this part of the route. No wonder it inspires so many photographers each year!

We’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s photography competition and are proud to be playing a part in supporting this amazing charity and showcasing the South West region and all it has to offer both returning guests, and those discovering the region for the first time.

The competition is free to enter and up to 20 photographs can be entered. For entry details and to read more about the South West Coast Path Take a look at their website here: Photography Competition - South West Coast Path
