Classic Cottages support Ivybridge Ring and Ride
In the newsIvybridge Ring and Ride is part of the Ivybridge & District Community Transport Association, and they provide accessible minibus transport for people who live in remote areas or those who find conventional transport physically difficult. A £1000 donation from Classic is helping to keep minibuses on the road.

The service is used by around 45 people each week and operates two minibuses which travel to local destinations, monthly social excursions to garden centres and pubs, and crucially, essential shopping trips. The scheme is vital in reducing isolation and improving the quality of life for local residents, who would otherwise struggle with transport.
Lauren Grindle, Assistant Coordinator for the Ivybridge & District Community Transport Association, said: “We rely heavily on fundraising and donations, so this generous contribution from Classic Cottages makes a real difference. It helps us meet the day-to-day costs of keeping the service running and maintaining the vehicles.

“This is so much more than a transport service – for many of our passengers it’s a real social lifeline. People who live alone or in isolated areas really look forward to their trips. They make friends, they look out for each other, and it gives them something to look forward to each week.”
Nicola Williams, Classic Cottages’ Area Manager for South Devon, said: “We’re delighted to support the Ivybridge Ring and Ride service. It’s clear how much this means to the local community and how valuable it is for people who would otherwise find it hard to stay connected. Supporting community initiatives like this is a big part of what we do at Classic Cottages, and we’re really pleased to help such a caring local service continue its work.”

If you live in the local area and think you could help, The Ivybridge & District Community Transport Association is appealing for volunteer drivers, both for its minibus service and its volunteer car scheme, which helps people attend essential appointments.
