Try a sea view cottage in Padstow, a charming fishing harbour known for its foodie appeal and boutique shopping. Freshly caught fish is the meal of the day and the atmosphere remains throughout the year - this is not just a summer destination.
Hop over the Camel Estuary to Rock for an upmarket air and equally resplendent sea views. From here it's an easy drive further north to Port Isaac, now known as Doc Martin's Port Wenn. If you've ever watched the ITV series and dreamed of gazing out of one of those cottages, book a sea view cottage in North Cornwall.
Heading further up the coast, sea views become more reminiscent of medieval times with Tintagel featuring its castle, and legends of Camelot. Don't forget to check out Merlin's cave before continuing the magical mystery tour at the Museum of Witchcraft in Boscastle. The most northern point of the Cornish coast is the heritage coastline of Hartland, worth travelling for the coastal walks or for a family day on the wide flats of Bude.
