Nestled in the rural hamlet of Crugmeer, surrounded by glorious countryside yet only a 15-minute walk to Cornwall’s dramatic north coast and a mile from Cornwall’s foodie hotspot of Padstow, The Mowhay serves up the perfect mix of rural bliss, coastal adventures and culinary delights.

Wind your way along the country lane to uncover this charming homestay, waiting to treat up to five guests and your tail-wagging companion, to a wonderful escape in this special part of the county where treasured memories are sure to be made. Whitewashed throughout and flawlessly curated with pared-back simplicity, semi-detached The Mowhay is set all on one level, with just one exception - the winsome twin bedroom upstairs. Set under the eaves, it is sure to be claimed by younger members of the party.

The kitchen/dining-room is the place for all to gather, where the designated chef can rustle up that all important ‘full English’, with fresh produce purchased from the local farm shop - and when we say ‘local’, we mean local, it’s only a five minute walk down the road! The open fire in the sitting-room will be a very welcome sight on those out-of-season breaks, when you need to rest weary legs after a day out exploring. Patio doors extend the living space outdoors where the wonderful garden and terrace give way to views across the open countryside and the ocean beyond. It's a haven for outdoor living, ideal for leisurely lunches, garden games, afternoon reading, cooking flamed grilled feasts on the barbecue and gathering around the fire-pit under the stars.

And when the stars appear and bedtime beckons, off to bed you trot. A huge Emperor bed awaits the lucky guests in the main bedroom, it’s the perfect excuse for a morning lie-in and next door is the sweet single room with the family bathroom close by.

When it’s time to explore, gather the troops, pack up a picnic and head out to discover all the delights that await.

It’s a 15 minute walk to Trevone Bay, with its golden sand and natural pool, popular with surfers and families alike and if you are here for the week, why not spend seven days in seven bays as this glorious stretch of coastline boasts, you’ve guessed it, seven stunning beaches.

To view the coast from a different angle, long scenic hikes along the coast path are a must and for some fun on two wheels, hire some bicycles and venture along the renowned Camel Trail, as it winds its way from the coast, through Wadebridge and up to Bodmin Moor - you don't have to go the whole way as you can always stop off en route for a cream tea or to sample some award-winning wine!

You are sure to pop in Padstow, where gastronomic delights and celebrity chefs are in abundance. There are also trendy shops and galleries, pubs and cafes galore to tempt you and a whole host of festivals and celebrations throughout the year. Hop on the ferry across the estuary to fashionable Rock and try your hand at sailing or windsurfing and if golf is your game, there are a choice of links courses to put your handicap to the test.
