Cornwall is known for its many beaches and miles of coastpath so you're always assured of a good view with a sea view cottage, whether it be perched on a clifftop or clustered around a harbour. Even the Cornish moorland cottages can have sea views, with a rural cottage looking out over the unspoilt countryside, dotted with mining heritage, to the sea.
Devon is the largest West Country county but is top and tailed by the north and south coast. A north Devon sea view cottage will have superb views out over rugged coastlines whereas a south Devon cottage with sea views takes in the calm flatness of the south coast.
Who knew Somerset was the place to go for a self catering break with a sea view? Well drive over Exmoor and you'll hit the coast of the Bristol channel, with all the charm and easy access of Somerset, topped off with a sparkly sea backdrop.
