Set yourself up for a Christmas on Exmoor for true walking country, or pick a place along the north coast for Christmas sea views - pebbly Porlock, the harbour at Minehead or the marina at Watchet, anywhere as far east as Weston-Super-Mare where you might even spot Wales on a clear day.
Steer clear of the coast and find a rural retreat of picture postcard perfection. A tiny little town has necessary amenities but much more charm; seek out inland loveliness like Crewkerne or Bruton, go spiritual at Glastonbury or go large and visit one of the counties two cities, Bath or Wells for a full-on Christmas market experience.
