Once famous for its pilchard fishery and traditional boat building, Mevagissey's harbour is still lined with pretty fishing boats, many of which still work the seas today. Turning away from the bay and the streets are a jigsaw of cafes, restaurants, pubs and little shops just waiting to welcome you in.
Situated on the Cornish Riviera, Mevagissey is in a great spot for heading out to local attractions, like the enchanting Lost Gardens of Heligan, and numerous beautiful beaches. Polstreath (joining Little Polstreath at low water) and Pentewan beach are both within five minutes of Mevagissey, and Gorran Haven beach is a mere 10 minutes, so be sure to remember your swimming trunks if you're visiting in the warmer months!
The quaint town of Fowey is half an hour in the car, as is the city of Truro if you're looking to hit the shops. Whether you're looking to keep yourself occupied within Mevagissey or can't wait to hit the road to explore the local area, there is plenty for you to do and see that'll leave you wanting more.
