Bunk-bedsNestled in the heart of the glorious Cornish countryside on the outskirts of the pretty village of St Ewe, close to the fabulous beaches of Gorran Haven and Mevagissey, Plain An Gwarry is a charming, detached farmhouse, beautifully styled and perfect for a family holiday or getaway with friends.
Located in a rural setting outside the village and just off the main road to Gorran Haven, this tranquil retreat has a large rear garden with views over the surrounding countryside. The ground floor is home to a fabulous kitchen complete with slate floors and oak worktops. Leading from the kitchen, the gorgeous sitting/dining-room is ideal for sociable holidays with a large dining-table, wood-burner and sitting-area with contemporary seating and views of the garden and beyond. Patio doors from this room lead to the garden steps, giving easy access for the family dog and children to go out to play in the Cornish sunshine. The snug is tucked away at the front of the cottage where you will find traditional features and gorgeous styling, plus a warming wood-burner, the perfect quiet spot for relaxation and peace.
Upstairs on the first floor you will find four lovely bedrooms, a spacious principal with king-size bed and swish en suite, two double rooms with 'zip and link' beds and a room with bunk-beds the children will adore. Beautifully furnished, the family bathroom is reached via a couple of steps off the half-landing and has a bath and a shower.
The enclosed back garden has a large lawned area and a sheltered patio for long leisurely days in the Cornish sunshine and blissful evenings enjoying al fresco dining as the sun sets. Parking is provided to the side of Plain An Gwarry.
Visiting St Ewe is like stepping back in time, with a quaint 12th Century church and quintessential village pub just a short stroll away from your holiday home. Even the old village telephone box has been repurposed here! For those looking to explore all Cornwall has to offer, this has to be one of the best locations in the county. The blissful beaches of the south coast, Gorran Haven and Caerhays, are a short journey away, where golden sands and clear blue waters await.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are less than a mile from Plain An Gwarry and should be on your "to do" list; discovered over 30 years ago and now England's finest garden restoration with over 200 acres of estate to explore. Children will particularly enjoy the outdoor adventure play meadow and jungle walk. You will also find the finest Cornish produce at Lobbs Farm Shop next door to Heligan where you can stock up on all manner of local goodies and enjoy a well-deserved treat at the Farmhouse Kitchen Cafe.
