Ryde Cottages
We've got 84 holiday cottages in and around Ryde, one of the largest towns on the Isle of Wight. Ryde is located in the north east of the island, just next to East Cowes and Cowes across the River Medina. Like Sandown, Ryde has a traditional Victorian pier into the sea, with plenty of activities. The longest sandy beach on the island, Ryde Beach is popular with watersports enthusiasts, particularly kitesurfers. There are amusements on the pier to keep all the family entertained, and there’s even a steam railway which runs from here through the east of the island – perfect for an exciting day out and a great way to explore the Isle of Wight without the car. From the beach, you can watch the hovercrafts coming and going from the mainland or book on to one and visit Portsmouth for the day.
Ryde beach makes up part of the coastline attached to Puckpool Park – a large park area connecting Ryde and Seaview. There’s plenty to do on the park: mini golf, tennis, children’s play areas and some remnants of fortifications from World War One and Two. The park is dog-friendly and offers a mile walk from Ryde to Seaview with gorgeous picturesque views.
As the island is fairly compact, there’s also Newport close by if you’re looking for a larger town to explore and maybe do a spot of shopping.
