Set in the stunning grounds of The Barton Manor Estate, with access to a private beach, 200 acres of woodland and close to Cowes on the Isle of Wight, Barton Manor Farmhouse is a beautifully renovated 150-year-old farmhouse, perfect for a rather special holiday with family or group of friends. Adjacent to Osborne House, once the holiday home of Queen Victoria, this splendid residence has been sympathetically renovated and beautifully furnished to offer guests the ultimate dog friendly Island retreat.

From the moment you drive down the tree-lined avenue you will be enchanted. The farmhouse has many gorgeous original features, and these are evident as you enter the grand hallway with beautiful, restored floors and the staircase leading to the upper floor. The spacious ground floor is home to a charming sitting-room with TV and DVD player and living-room, elegantly furnished with a wood-burner for cosy nights at cooler times of the year. The kitchen/dining-room is fabulous with original tiled flooring and super stylish double electric oven and hob. There's a separate traditional pantry for storing your holiday essentials and a wonderful dining-area with wood-burner for cooler months and sociable meals with the family. If you want to keep ahead with the washing fear not, there's a washing machine and tumble-drier in the boot-room, along with plenty of space for muddy boots and beach gear. And there's also a handy wet-room too, perfect for rinsing salty toes and paws.

Climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find four gorgeous bedrooms, all with 'zip and link' beds so you can choose either twin bed configuration or double. Elegantly furnished in pastel shades, with charming furniture and artwork, a restful night is assured in these beautiful rooms. Bedrooms one and two are both en suite and bedrooms three and four share a bathroom so no queuing for the facilities here!

Outside, Barton Manor Farmhouse has a terrace with furniture and a barbecue, the perfect holiday pastime. With 200 acres of woodland to explore and access to a private beach (both shared with other guests and the owner) there are many special adventures to be had here. You can also enjoy other shared facilities including a games-room with table-tennis and tennis court (fee payable to the owner). With gorgeous grounds, woodland and a beach a short stroll away, a holiday here will be quite blissful.

With so much to do and see from the doorstep you may never leave your beautiful surroundings. If you do decide to travel further afield call in on the neighbours, Osborne House, now managed by English Heritage with majestic gardens, a pretty beach and stunning house to explore. There's even a cafe on the beach serving hot drinks and ice creams. The sailing town of Cowes is a short drive away with a good selection of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and Waitrose to stock up on your holiday essentials. Head for Quarr Abbey, a monastery of Benedictine monks set in beautiful gardens with tea-rooms, a farm shop and gallery, or visit the pretty seaside villages of Seaview and Bembridge on the east coast. To the west, the iconic Needles are quite spectacular and Freshwater Bay a magical place to visit. Walkers will be spoilt for choice with miles of trails and bridal tracks criss-crossing the Island, either along the coast or through pretty inland countryside and woodlands (whilst you are there do keep a look out for the elusive red squirrels who call the Island home).

However you plan to spend your precious holiday time, Barton Manor Farmhouse is a wonderful place to make happy memories.
