We’ve been raising the standards of self catering holidays since 1977.
Our family ethos
Tony and Clare Tregoning started the business back in 1977 and their dedication to quality and excellence is at the heart of everything we do. Tony is sadly no longer with us, but we still adhere to their original ethos of finding holiday homes we would like to stay in and have slowly grown the company to find the best picks of properties across the counties. Plus Clare still drops in to keep us on our toes.
As an independent, family-run company, we wouldn’t expect you to stay anywhere we wouldn’t want to stay ourselves. And we’re pretty picky. We want you to walk into your handpicked holiday home and say ‘wow’, sit back and relax.
Within Mayfield, you will find a variety of independent shops, spectacular countryside and historic buildings. Watch the world go by with a coffee in one of the wonderful local cafes like The Pink Cabbage, explore the peaceful countryside and spot the fascinating buildings while you wander through the winding streets.
Venture to Mayfield High Street for a selection of local shops offering crafts and produce and take your pick of places to eat from the pub, restaurant, deli and cafes for a light snack or a sumptuous meal. For a special Sussex souvenir, why not treat yourself to a locally made bottle of Mayfield Gin?

With its easy access to both London and Brighton, Mayfield is the perfect escape if you want to explore the countryside while also enjoying a more metropolitan holiday. It’s also just a short drive to many wonderful areas and family friendly activities for a day out, such as Royal Tunbridge Wells, Battle Abbey, South Downs National Park, Llama Park and the Battle of Hastings site. Should you fancy a trip to the seaside, Mayfield is only forty minutes’ drive away from Eastbourne or Hastings.
Our Mayfield cottages make the most of the historic village’s features and have everything you might need right on the doorstep. Stay in a dog friendly holiday cottage in Mayfield and bring your four legged friend to explore the East Sussex countryside.
