KingThis characterful gem, nestled in beautiful Sussex countryside, offers the perfect retreat for couples and solo travellers seeking a luxury escape.
Nobby Nook is a lovingly converted Victorian barn which exudes rustic charm. The open plan living area, with heated stone floors, has oak beams that arch high overhead. Snuggle up in front of the roaring wood-burning stove or rustle up a lazy brunch in the well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen opens directly onto a private, enclosed courtyard-garden, the perfect spot for afternoon cocktails or al fresco dining whilst taking in the beautiful view.
Set in the historic hamlet of Willards Hill, the nearby villages of Robertsbridge and Etchingham offer practical amenities and charming pubs. Etchingham station provides direct rail links to London and Hastings, and has rapid EV charging. When bedtime calls, head to the bedroom to find the most comfortable king-size bed, dressed in crisp white linens for that dreamy night’s sleep. A spacious shower-room with large shower cubicle sits adjacent.
Wake up refreshed and ready to explore the delights that Sussex has in store. Enjoy the wonderful network of footpaths that weave through rolling hills and ancient woodlands providing wonderful vistas and a haven for wildlife.
Nobby Nook is perfectly placed for a plethora of different day trips. A short drive will take you to the pretty village of Burwash to visit Batemans, the former home to Rudyard Kipling, or to the remarkable Bodiam Castle where you can take the steam train through rolling countryside to Tenterden.
Book a wine tasting tour at one of the many local vineyards including Biddenden, Oastbrook, Hidden Spring and Beacon Down. Take in an opera at world-famous Glyndebourne and book a table at the restaurant or pack a picnic for the wonderful grounds.
Head to the coast - Camber Sands with its golden sandy beach or Winchelsea Beach, Hastings and Bexhill-on-Sea are all within reach.
Discover the cobbled streets of Rye or find a bargain in the antique shops of Hastings Old Town, followed by fish and chips on the pier or a concert in the remarkable Art-deco De La Warr Pavilion.
Visit Bedgebury National Pinetum or Bewl Water for rambling, water sports or cycling. Or for the keen angler, a day’s fishing at the Lakedown Trout Fishery which has four spring-fed lakes and micro-brewery.
There are so many day trips to enjoy - Pashley Manor, Great Dixter Gardens, Dungeness, Battle Abbey, Smallhythe Place, Camber Castle, Sissinghurst Castle, Alfriston, Charlston Farmhouse, Scotney Castle, Sarah Raven Perch Hill Farm to name a few.
And of course, after your day out, head back to your peaceful countryside retreat!
