For a digital detox head to the beautiful countryside of the High Weald National Landscape to stay at this unique timber-cladded barn that offers a peaceful escape just moments from Bewl Water.

The open plan living area has a cosy wood-burner and vintage furnishings, some inspired by Bloomsbury and painted by Bloomsbury Revisited. Bi-fold doors open to a pretty cottage courtyard that's shared with the owners and their friendly dog B who live at the neighbouring property.

The barn is a sociable space and has a free-standing kitchen with all you need to rustle up a hearty supper before snuggling up with a good book, some music or a movie. Take a long soak in the gorgeous free-standing copper bath, the perfect place to fully unwind before heading to the mezzanine bedroom for a peaceful night's sleep beneath the rustic timber roof.

Wake up refreshed and get ready to explore. The nearby village of Wadhurst has two pubs, a couple of restaurants and several independent shops. You are less than 10 miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells and perfectly place for visiting the south coast with Hastings, Eastbourne, Brighton, and Camber Sands less than an hour away.

A short walk or cycle ride will take you to Bewl Water where you can take to the lake path or participate in some water activities from boating, windsurfing, kayaking or paddleboarding before a picnic on the lawns or enjoying some local produce from the lakeside cafe.

For Bloomsbury Lovers visit Charleston, the former home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, where every room is filled with hand-painted furniture, artwork and murals that inspired the Bloomsbury movement.

Get tickets to Glyndebourne and enjoy a picnic in the grounds or dine in one of the onsite restaurants.

Book a wine tasting tour at one of the many local vineyards. There is Mousehall Distillery & Winery, Wildwood Vineyard, Coes Farm, Beacon Down Vineyard, Hidden Spring Vineyard, and Oastbrook Estate Vineyard.

The High Weald is home to some magnificent castles, beautiful gardens, and ancient woodlands. Visit Great Dixter House and Gardens or discover Bateman's, the former home of Rudyard Kipling. Explore the 14th Century moated Bodiam Castle or the beautiful gardens of Scotney Castle. Enjoy a day at Pashley Manor Gardens, the famous gardens at Sissinghurst Castle or a little further afield Hever Castle, the former home of Anne Boleyn, before returning to the peace and tranquility at Bloomsbury Cottage.
