We’ve been raising the standards of self catering holidays since 1977.
Our family ethos
Tony and Clare Tregoning started the business back in 1977 and their dedication to quality and excellence is at the heart of everything we do. Tony is sadly no longer with us, but we still adhere to their original ethos of finding holiday homes we would like to stay in and have slowly grown the company to find the best picks of properties across the counties. Plus Clare still drops in to keep us on our toes.
As an independent, family-run company, we wouldn’t expect you to stay anywhere we wouldn’t want to stay ourselves. And we’re pretty picky. We want you to walk into your handpicked holiday home and say ‘wow’, sit back and relax.
Why head further west with kids in the car, when you can make your final destination just as good but not as far? Somerset and Exmoor are filled with family friendly things to do, places to see, food to eat and it's easy to forget that it has a beautiful coastline for that all important seaside element. Children's holidays have to involve a bucket and spade, don't they?
Maybe not, when it comes to Somerset and Exmoor. You're bucket and spade won't go to waste in this county, but there is a plethora of other things to keep children of all ages entertained. Site yourself on a working farm for never-ending amusement, cuddling sheep and possibly feeding lambs. Tuck your family up in a quaint little village to sample the good life, or head to one of the larger towns for a family holiday that's a bit more mainstream.
Somerset and Exmoor have once-in-a-lifetime family attractions such as Cheddar Gorge, where a pot-holing experience will leave children exclaiming that this was the best family holiday ever! If tight, dark, underground spaces aren't you're thing, pony-trekking across the moors will enthrall all ages - young or old, these ponies know how to carry you for an unusual view of your surroundings. So next time you want to get away with the kids for a luxury family holiday with children, pick one of our child-friendly holiday cottages in Somerset.
