Roy Beal is on a mission to raise awareness about pollution and the effects on our marine environment and wildlife though beach cleans and expeditions along the coast. He even made an epic journey in his trusty kayak (named Just Add Water!) paddling the entire length of Britain from John O’Groats to Lands’ End against prevailing winds, a staggering 963-mile trip in 56 days!

The Classic team met up with Roy on a sunny spring morning at West Bay and following a brief safety chat, set off along the surrounding beaches, avoiding the cliffs of West Bay which are prone to collapse. We collected an assortment of plastic waste and rubbish, including fishing lines, tin cans, plastic bottle tops and cigarette butts. All the rubbish was sorted by Roy and recycled wherever possible.

As part of our on-going local area support, we were delighted to purchase some re-useable beach clean bags for Clean Jurassic Coast to help with collecting rubbish from beaches. The spectacular land and seascapes of Dorset need protection to ensure they continue to inspire future generations, and we are proud to have helped Roy and the team in their quest to keep the Jurassic Coast beautiful.
