This unspoilt gem of a village is hidden away in the bends of the river but makes a wonderful home away from home, filled with thatched cottages and friendly locals to chat with, you’ll feel comfortable in no time. Whilst staying in a self catering cottage, treat yourself to a meal out at the Ferry Boat Inn, known as the FBI to locals. River ferries will take you pretty much anywhere along the River Dart from Dittisham. To get to Dartmouth via boat will take around half an hour and the journey offers some beautiful scenery to enjoy en route. Travelling by boat is something special for all the family to get excited about.
With Dartmouth to the south, you have plenty to discover using Dittisham as your base. For an exciting day out, take the water ferry across to Kingswear to see the river from a new perspective and find a new place to explore. Dittisham is directly across the river from the Greenway estate. Formerly owned by Agatha Christie, now by the National Trust, the estate is a beautiful haven of green to wander at your own pace. Tony and Clare Tregoning started the business back in 1977 and their dedication to quality and excellence is at the heart of everything we do. Tony is sadly no longer with us, but we still adhere to their original ethos of finding holiday homes we would like to stay in and have slowly grown the company to find the best picks of properties across the counties. Plus Clare still drops in to keep us on our toes.
As an independent, family-run company, we wouldn’t expect you to stay anywhere we wouldn’t want to stay ourselves. And we’re pretty picky. We want you to walk into your handpicked holiday home and say ‘wow’, sit back and relax.
