Holiday cottages by a sandy beach on the Isle of Wight
The shores of the Isle of Wight offer a variety of beaches and coves to explore. As the island is so compact, no matter where you choose to stay you’ll be in close proximity of stretches of golden sands.Read more
When it comes to classic beaches, South Wight really is the place to be. Miles of sand stretch out across the shoreline, dotted by the odd cafe and pier along the way. These beaches are lined with a classic seaside promenade too, meaning you can enjoy the views across the Channel all year round. These beaches are also dog friendly at certain times of the year. The expansive stretches of sand are perfect for pooches who like to stretch their legs. The seaside walk between Shanklin and Sandown gives picturesque views of Shanklin and Shanklin Chine on a calm day. When the wind picks up the waves crash against the walk way making for spectacular photos, just make sure you stay well away from the water’s edge.
Catch the tide at the right time and Ryde has some lovely beaches to make the most of. These almost disappear when the tide comes in so you need to catch them quick. After a walk on the beach, hop on to the steam railway for an adventure around East Wight. Leaving the car at home for the day will give you a sense of freedom in experiencing a different way of getting around.
Freshwater Bay on the west of the island has some sandy spots. When the tide goes out the beach is sand below the water mark. It’s supposedly the most beautiful bay on the island but we’ll let you decide that for yourself. Surrounded by the rugged, desolate charm of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this part of the island is perfect for walkers. There’s plenty of inland jaunts and coastal routes to stomp along. All you’ll need is a good pair of boots.
The close proximity of the Isle of Wight to London makes the island ideal for a weekend short break. Take a break from the big smoke to feel the sand between your toes and the wind whipping through your hair. Visit for a Valentine’s weekend with your beau or pack up the kids and head south for a summer holiday to remember.

We’ve been raising the standards of self catering holidays since 1977.
Our family ethos
Tony and Clare Tregoning started the business back in 1977 and their dedication to quality and excellence is at the heart of everything we do. Tony is sadly no longer with us, but we still adhere to their original ethos of finding holiday homes we would like to stay in and have slowly grown the company to find the best picks of properties across the counties. Plus Clare still drops in to keep us on our toes.
As an independent, family-run company, we wouldn’t expect you to stay anywhere we wouldn’t want to stay ourselves. And we’re pretty picky. We want you to walk into your handpicked holiday home and say ‘wow’, sit back and relax.
