This former coastguard cottage boasts some of the most magnificent views over Cadgwith down to the cove and the sparkling sea beyond. The welcoming and characterful cottage, whose namesake was a local fisherman, still retains many original features such as a little nook off the main bedroom where in a bygone era the coastguard may well have spent his long hours on watch.

The large kitchen/diner is the perfect spot for a delicious meal or planning the next adventure, while the cosy sitting-room really makes the most of the dramatic view where one can appreciate the landscape at any time of year. Why not throw open the doors and listen to the waves crashing on the cliffs! Please be aware that the wood-burner is decorative only.

You will find it very hard to get out of bed with the fresh salty sea air the cause of that much needed deep sleep. The main bedroom also enjoys the fabulous views and perhaps a loved one will bring you that well deserved cup of tea in bed. The twin bedroom at the back of the cottage is lovely and sheltered from the winter storms. The family shower-room is also on the first floor.

The south-facing garden is the perfect spot for an al fresco meal at any time of the day. Why not set up a romantic candlelit picnic for two at the end of the garden?

Lofty's Cottage is the second to last cottage in the row of former coastguards' cottages, accessed via a little lane and through a private courtyard. Retaining all its charm, we are sure it cannot have changed much from when the property was originally built.

Cadgwith is one of the prettiest villages on The Lizard, with thatched cottages and craggy coves where you will not find fresher fish.

Down the hill from the cottage there is a great pub and cafe where you can get your daily fix of ice cream. The South West Coast Path nearby is fabulous to explore and the coastline dramatically changes throughout the year.

Lofty's Cottage makes an ideal base to explore Cadgwith, the rest of the beautiful Lizard peninsula and beyond.
