SingleIf you are looking for the quintessential picture-perfect Cornish thatched cottage, with fabulous seascape views and in the heart of the delightful fishing village of Cadgwith, then look no further, you've found it! With dreamy views from every window, either of the ocean or over the nearby thatched roofs of the village, you will instantly fall in love with your holiday location.
Locally acknowledged to be one of the original cottages in the village, Pink Cottage truly is a unique and characterful Cornish cottage. Aptly named because of its pale pink walls, the cottage sits in arguably the best position in the village, overlooking Little Beach and a stone's throw from the village centre.
Step over the threshold through the low front door and you will enter the cosy sitting-room where you can sit on comfy sofas and enjoy spending time looking at the fabulous view of the beach and 'The Todden' (a small area of land in-between two beaches) through the picture window. The electric wood-burner will warm your cockles and makes this the perfect escape at any time of year.
The dining-room is the perfect spot for catching up around the table, surrounded by local art and views over the thatched roofs of the village. The galley kitchen has everything you will need to cook up a holiday feast and why not pop down the road and see the local fishermen for some of the days catch for a tasty supper? The fridge/freezer, microwave and handy washing machine can all be found in the dining-area.
Pink Cottage has a typical steep dividing cottage staircase and the three bedrooms and bathroom can be found on the first floor. The main bedroom has oodles of space and really has the 'wow' factor where you can fall asleep listening to the waves breaking on the shore and enjoy your morning cup of tea looking out onto the sparkling ocean. With window seats, low beams, lintels and steps here and there, this is the perfect place to relax and re-charge. Pretty bedroom two has twin beds and a lovely outlook and cute bedroom three is a single room.
With such gorgeous surroundings you will want to spend hours outside, drinking in the view and enjoying village life. Sit in the sun on one of two large terraces and truly relax into your holiday. When the weather is inclement, why not arrange a family tournament of table-tennis in the games-room? And afterwards, if the chef wants a night off, the local village pub the Cadgwith Cove Inn is a great place to dine and only a two minute walk away. The Cadgwith Singers are known to burst into song in the bar here so do make sure you go along for some sea shanty singing.
If you do ever manage to tear yourself away from the delights of Cadgwith the South West Coast Path runs virtually from the doorstep and you can walk in either direction for miles, discovering secret coves, dramatic cliffs and sandy beaches. A little further afield Lizard Point, the most southerly part of England, is worth a visit for the dramatic vistas and there are several cafes where a Cornish cream tea should definitely be on your list of things to do (jam first of course!). Iconic Kynance Cove is a photographer's dream and further afield everyone will love majestic St Michael's Mount and the open-air Minack Theatre. Pink Cottage, perfect for a truly Cornish getaway, will be somewhere you will want to return to year after year.
