This charming and historic Grade II Listed Cornish coach house has been lovingly restored and converted, just perfect for your getaway with friends or family. Beautifully situated in the pretty Cornish countryside inbetween Porthtowan on the north coast and Falmouth on the south coast, both of which aew within easy reach.

Originally the stables for The Copper House, built around 1840, there is an ocean of history in this special property with many original features throughout. Entering the property through the front door, you find yourself in a useful porch – the perfect place for muddy boots and sandy buckets and spades. Open the doors into the spacious and airy sitting/dining-room with its beautiful, vaulted ceilings. The luxurious velvet sofas provide a central seating area for guests to kick back and enjoy a good film, while the dining-table comfortably seats eight guests for unhurried suppers after a day of sightseeing.

The well-equipped kitchen/breakfast-room is bright and welcoming and comes complete with a built-in range cooker, Belfast sink, and large fridge/freezer – essential for a family gathering. Enjoy using this delightful kitchen, perhaps cooking with fresh local produce while your sous-chef perches at the island, ensuring the wine is topped up. In addition, there is a separate utility-room with pantry-style shelving for extra food storage, along with a washing machine and microwave.

Up five steps from the kitchen, the sunny conservatory overlooks the terrace and is the perfect space to unwind with a good book and a coffee when the weather proves inclement. Outside, The Coach House boasts a sunny terrace with comfy sofas, ideal for relaxing with a refreshing G&T while looking out over the pretty lawned garden. The outdoor area has a Mediterranean vibe and is furnished with outdoor seating and a barbecue. As a nod to its origins, the owners have incorporated some of the original feeders and doors from the stables.

The bedrooms are all blissful, individually styled, and each with an en suite – how luxurious. On the ground floor there are two high quality ‘zip-and-link' beds, allowing for flexibility and ease of access. Bedroom 1 is accessed via a small step down and features calming green hues to ensure a good nights sleep and has an en suite shower-room with striking tiles – please mind the slight slope in the doorway. Bedroom 2 is perfect for grandparents, with no threshold. It feels cosy and timeless, with a deep, dark blue wall adding warmth and calm and also benefits from an en suite shower-room.

Upstairs, you will find two further en suite bedrooms. The principal bedroom has a luxurious super-king bed, perfect for resting weary limbs after a day exploring. Perhaps snuggle up and enjoy your favourite box set on the TV or run yourself a long bubble bath in this lovely room. The fourth bedroom has a cosy double bed and a pretty floral feel – each bedroom really does have its own charm – and also includes a small en suite shower room.

There is plenty to explore right on your doorstep, with 30 acres of mature woodland gardens (please keep dogs on leads) which has been featured in Tim Hubbard's latest book 'Secret Gardens Of Cornwall: A Private Tour', as part of the estate for you to enjoy. Burncoose Nurseries themselves are a treat for keen gardeners, offering over 3,500 varieties of ornamental trees, shrubs, and rare plants – particularly Camellias, Magnolias, and Rhododendrons – and are renowned for winning more than 20 RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medals.

The Coach House is perfectly located in central Cornwall, equidistant to both the north and south coasts, which can be reached in just 15 minutes. Visit surfing beaches such as Porthtowan or enjoy the softer coastline of nearby Falmouth. The A30 is only a short drive away, making it easy to explore all parts of Cornwall. Cusgarne Farm Shop offers fabulous organic local food, great coffee and cakes, Falmouth has a plethora of fabulous cafes, shops and restaurants and only a short drive away or The Buttermarket in Redruth might be worth a visit, or perhaps a pasty or fish and chips on the beach in the summer months. With so much choice of things to do you will be wanting to come back.

The team at Burncoose is on hand to ensure your stay exceeds expectations and can assist with any additional requirements. If you are celebrating a special event or occasion, you may wish to consider the services of a private chef or in-house pampering with spa treatments provided by HomeSpa Cornwall – the team will be happy to help arrange this for you.
