If you are seeking a luxury rural retreat for a relaxing much needed holiday or short break then look no further than the welcome waiting for you at Gilly Barn. Step away from everyday life and reconnect with the nature, friends and family at this beautiful barn conversion located only a short drive from Falmouth and the perfect base from which to discover Cornwall's infinitely diverse and very special magic of the north and south coasts, and everywhere in between.
With wonderful far reaching countryside views, semi-detached Gilly Barn enjoys a secluded, elevated position just outside the little hamlet of Penhalvean, with its next door neighbour Burnfoot (2006) and the farm next door being the only neighbours.
Not only does Gilly Barn have everything you need for that get away from it all holiday break in a peaceful location but there are many little touches throughout the barn so you can just come and relax without having to think of anything. Gilly Barn's reversed level accommodation is exceedingly spacious with room for everyone; galleried steps from the spacious dining/sitting room lead down to the roundhouse, originally where the grain would have been ground by a donkey turning the millstone and now transformed into a light and airy sitting-room.
Curl up on one of the comfy sofas or in a leather armchair to read a book or listen to music and on cooler days warm your toes in front of the cosy wood burner, the ultimate in relaxation after a day at home or out and about exploring.
The beautiful bedrooms can be found on the lower level and from the French doors in the Master suite you can access your private garden to sit out with an evening drink to enjoy the setting sun. You will find the shower room on this level too and a further cloakroom upstairs. External steps lead up to Gilly Barn's first floor front entrance and there is a second set of stone steps leading directly from the kitchen to the garden, perfect for popping back to the fridge for a top up when eating outside with those wonderful countryside views. The garden to the rear of the barn is big enough for games, cartwheels or simply relaxing with friend, family and of course if you have one, your four-legged friend. The villages of Stithians and Lanner both only two miles away offer the guest local village stores for basic supplies and for the larger shop why not order a delivery from one of the local supermarket, or jump in the car as both Truro and Falmouth are not far away.
And for those looking for some adventure on the water, you are a hop and a skip from Stithians Lake, where you will find fishing to footpaths, wildlife to watersports and a café, the lake is both a hub of activity and a peaceful escape.
If you are a large party or two families (up to 11 guests) you can book both barns together and receive a 10% discount off your booking, and with a gate in the fence between the two properties you can easily get together for some holiday fun, the thoughtful owners have really thought of everything!
