Super-kingWelcome aboard Newclose Houseboat, a beautifully restored contemporary houseboat located in picturesque Bembridge harbour on the Isle of Wight, just a short stroll away from the stunning beaches and village centre where you will find an excellent choice of local shops, cafes and restaurants.
Bembridge harbour is a magical place for a holiday, you can sit and enjoy watching the tide ebb and flow whilst watching the resident swans glide past. Newclose Houseboat sits in a row of similar characterful houseboats with a private entrance found just over the road from the parking space. Climb the walkway and the entrance is to the right-hand side, past the patio doors to bedroom one. The handy cloakroom with wash-basin and WC is up three steps and from here you will enter the fabulous open plan living space. Beautifully crafted to capitalise on the gorgeous views, the sitting area looks out towards the bow and Solent, beyond the harbour entrance. If you can tear yourself away from the view, relax on the comfy corner sofa and catch up on the Smart TV, or perhaps gather everyone around the sociable dining-table and chat about the day's adventures. The swish kitchen is beautifully styled with all the equipment you will need to cook a holiday meal, and of course the all-important dishwasher so no squabbling over the washing up here! Bedroom one is accessed from the hallway and enjoys patio doors to the outside deck. It has a comfy king-size bed and en suite shower-room.

Outside to the bow you will find a fabulous sitting area with loungers for relaxing in the island sunshine and further modular seating. For the most stunning panoramic views climb the spiral staircase to the top deck where you will find outdoor seating just made for al fresco dining. The Isle of Wight is a fabulous place for a getaway and Newclose Houseboat is perfectly situated for all your island adventures.
From the moment you step onboard the ferry from the mainland your Isle of Wight adventure begins. The charming village of Bembridge is located on the easterly side of the island and you will find all the amenities you need just a stroll away including a fabulous bakery, fishmongers, No 8 Farm Shop and the renowned butchers Woodfords, where you can stock up on the very best produce for the barbecue. Indeed, it would be possible to holiday here and never need to take the car out!
Bembridge is home to the last surviving windmill on the island so make sure you make a visit, and the lifeboat station is also quite spectacular. With five miles of beach to explore at low tide, walkers will be in heaven and there's also a great selection of inland walks through marshland and beautiful countryside. Kayakers and paddleboarders should explore the sheltered harbour area at high tide and the pretty surrounding coastline when the weather allows.
Further afield, visit Osborne House, once the home of Queen Victoria and now beautifully kept by English Heritage. With extensive gardens, house and private beach with original bathing house, a whole day can be spent here.
Travel to West Wight along the breathtakingly beautiful Military Road and be captivated by the stunning coast around Freshwater with crystal clear waters, coves and inlets. Of course, a visit to the iconic Needles should not be missed if you are in the area.
