Penpont is a truly beautiful house serving up the perfect blend of an idyllic tucked away location, yet only a short distance from the enchanting Pont Creek and the sheltered bays and coastal walks along the south Cornish coast.

This stunning country home has plenty to offer. Pared back, elegant interiors with accent pieces that perfectly complement original features to create a calm and welcoming home, and relaxed outdoor spaces in the sunny south facing garden with views across the wooded valley towards the tower of Lanteglos Church. Let the calm of the setting work its magic as you take life at a gentler pace, listening to the birds sing their songs, watching the wildlife who regularly visit the garden, gazing at the wide open skies overhead or simply cosied up together in front of the wood-burning stove as day draws to a close. The wood-burner is accessed from both the sitting/dining-room and the snug, meaning that both rooms are as cosy as can be.

The holiday cooks can unleash their inner Mary Berry when preparing their culinary delights on the warming Aga in the country style kitchen/breakfast-room, which is the perfect place for enjoying informal meals and holiday snacks. When more formal dining calls, start with aperitifs served up from the cocktail cabinet in the snug before making your way through into the capacious sitting/dining-room where the dining-table takes pride of place in front of the French windows, that lead out to the covered patio and garden.

The calming interiors continue in the bedrooms and they all enjoy wonderful views over the gardens and wooded valleys. You are assured a peaceful night's sleep to set you up for whatever the following day has in store for you.

The garden is a delight, a wildlife paradise, set on a slope with paths meandering through wildflower areas and a little orchard. You can relax in the terrace, soaking up the sun from sunrise to sunset, or grab some quiet time in the shade with a good book.

For days and out and about, ramblers will be in their element as there are enchanting woodland walks and exhilarating coastal paths to discover. From Pont Creek you can enjoy the circular Hall Walk which includes two ferry rides across the estuary to take in the trendy sailing town of Fowey. Extend the walk by wandering around the independent shops and galleries, stop off for a bite to eat, there's many choices to tempt you, or simply take time out to watch people enjoying their pursuits on the water.

Take to the water yourself on a river trip or sea cruise, or hire canoes or kayaks and make your way up the estuary to the pretty village of Lerryn, perhaps spotting Ratty or Mr Toad along the way - well this stretch of water is said to be the inspiration of the children's classic, The Wind in the Willows

If you are craving a day at the beach, glorious beaches are in a abundance around Lantic Bay and for some traditional seaside charm head to the fishing town of Looe, calling into historic Polperro along the way. For more history, the National Trust's Lanhydrock House and gardens is well worth a visit if you are the green fingered type, the world renowned Eden Project is a must.

It doesn't get much better than this so what are you waiting for? Come and enjoy a break at Penpont and create treasured holiday memories.
