Sea Cottage is a New England style 'beach retreat' chalet, just yards from Instow’s dunes and sandy beaches. With direct access onto the Tarka Cycle Trail and coast path it will appeal to cyclists, birdwatchers and walkers alike.

The accommodation is all on one level, with the open plan living-room including a cosy wood-burner. Set down an unmade track next to the picturesque North Devon Cricket Club, this unique property requires a leap of faith from its visitors on arrival – but the minute guests step into the enclosed secret garden, all is revealed!

One side of the cottage looks towards a farm building, but the other has unspoilt countryside views and the patio enjoys views to Braunton Burrows.

Families with small children, couples and friends will all love this most welcoming of cottages. The attention to detail throughout has been thought through with loving care, as if the beach just a couple of hundred yards away was not enough!

At low tide you can walk along the sands for miles, or play in the shallow sea pools that are left behind by the tide. At high tide there is still plenty of soft golden sand to enjoy.

A seasonal passenger ferry will take you across the estuary to Appledore – the 'sister' coastal village to Instow, with galleries, pubs with live music, and a famous book festival in September.

Other attractions nearby include Tapeley Park just outside Instow, ferry trips to Lundy Island from Bideford Quay, The National Trust's Arlington Court, historic Clovelly, two excellent golf courses at Saunton and Westward Ho! and especially for children, The Milky Way and The Big Sheep.

There is something here for everyone but if the weather is good, all you will want to do is take a picnic to the beach and totally relax.
