Tucked away in the ye olde cobbled streets of Appledore, within a hop, skip and a jump of the picturesque quay, pubs and delis you will discover Salty Blue. A former fisherman's cottage offering the perfect escape to north Devon for a couple or a small family and of course the warm welcome is extended to your four-legged friend!

This perfectly positioned cottage offers character and charm throughout from the minute you walk through the stable-door into the sitting-room, which has been styled and furnished adding pops of colour with a trendy surfer feel, with the low slung second sofa and not forgetting the sea inspired accessories and art on the walls.

On those chillier nights turn on the gas stove, pour a favourite tipple and enjoy a film on the Smart TV or a good old game of Gin Rummy! The bright and joyful kitchen sits at the back of the house and offers the perfect tall chair perch for a feast which has been rustled up in the fully equipped kitchen! Or just the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee with the back door open listening to the birdsong!

The modern and spacious family bathroom is also located on the ground floor and is perfect for a long soak after surfing the waves at Westward Ho! From the kitchen you head upstairs to both perfectly proportioned and positioned double bedrooms (it may be possible to accommodate a fourth person on request) that offer sumptuous beds and crisp white linens thus creating the perfect spot to drift away after a day of exploring all that glorious north Devon had to offer!

Should a lazy day be on the cards then the gorgeous courtyard garden offers the perfect oasis. Climb into the hanging egg chair with a holiday read or stretch out on the corner seating and let time tick by! There is one thing for sure, when staying at Salty Blue you will recharge and unwind, this tucked away street being pedestrian only so you won't be bothered or disturbed by the holiday day trippers. However, do not worry, the long stay car park is a mere 500 yards away with first come first served parking on the quay a mere 100 yards away from the front door.

This little coastal village is a delight with its quay, passenger ferry across to Instow, fabulous delis and choice of cafes. Access along the little pedestrian lanes - with a nearby drop-off point - is all part of the charm.

You can even bring your own boat and use the public slipway. The estuary of the River Torridge here is a favourite with sailors. You can go surfing at Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands, Croyde or Woolacombe where there are miles of sandy beaches - or you can simply sit on the quay overlooking the estuary and watch the flocks of migratory birds and the multi-coloured sailing boats as they come and go.

Before you go, you must browse through the galleries and antiques shops for a treat to take home. There is also an annual book festival so, if you time your stay right, you can enjoy some literary culture too.
