Appledore sits opposite Instow and a passenger ferry runs between the two during summer months.
North Devon is renowned for its incredible coastline, miles and miles for all the family to enjoy. Great for surfing, kite surfing and walking. This is the beach at Instow.
Catch the passenger ferry from Bideford Quay for a day of birdwatching on Lundy Island.
Charming Clovelly is a short car journey away.
Sit and admire the view from the harbour at Clovelly.
Have a day of adventure at North Devon Wake Park where you can wakeboard, paddle board or enjoy the giant aquapark!
Bideford is a pretty market town.

Skilfully converted and with plenty of space, this cottage is bright and welcoming.
The open plan living-room has wooden floors and looks out to the garden, with two steps leading down into the well-equipped kitchen-area. Upstairs, the roomy bedrooms have lovely views over the peaceful countryside.
The owner lives next door but you will feel completely private.
The little town of Bideford is nearby, with its ferry to Lundy Island, and the sandy beach, galleries and cafes of Instow are even closer.
From Fig Tree Cottage guests can venture north to the surfing beaches of Croyde, Woolacombe and Saunton, east to the wilds of Exmoor, or west to the dramatic scenery of Hartland and north Cornwall. Wherever guests explore, Fig Tree Cottage will make a comfortable base for happy holidays in this unspoilt and peaceful location. The walled garden is a private haven to simply sit in with a book and a glass of wine to totally switch off from the pressures of daily life. The woodland meadows also have perfect places to sit with a picnic in peace and quiet.
If you do have any wet weather days there is a Smart TV for you to access your favourite films and programmes – in fact there is a TV in each bedroom! For a very rural property, the WiFi at this cottage is excellent too.
