Sheltered at the foot of Dolfan Hill, Seren is a beautifully converted blue railway wagon offering the ultimate romantic escape in the Welsh countryside. This special hideaway invites couples to slow down, switch off from the hum of everyday life and reconnect with nature.

Tucked away in a private corner of a meadow with sweeping views across the surrounding countryside, Seren has been thoughtfully designed to make the most of its cosy footprint. Inside, carefully curated interiors create a warm and welcoming retreat. Spend slow mornings with a cup of coffee in bed – specially made bespoke for the wagon – and gaze through the picture window to spot lambs grazing in the neighbouring field. The bijou kitchenette has been cleverly designed and is equipped with an induction hob, fridge/freezer, sink and air fryer.

The en suite shower-room features clever storage solutions and soft waffle dressing gowns to cosy up in after a day exploring. Spend your evenings playing board games from the thoughtfully chosen collection or settle in with a good book.

We have a feeling you'll want to spend most of your time outdoors, immersed in the beauty of your surroundings. Sink into an Adirondack lounger, toast marshmallows over the fire-pit and watch the day fade into dusk. Or make the most of Seren's location within a recognised Dark Sky area by running the beautifully restored Edwardian outdoor bath and soaking beneath a canopy of stars – an unforgettable way to unwind.

Beyond the farm, the picturesque market town of Rhayader is well worth exploring. Nestled on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains and known as the gateway to the Elan Valley, it offers a charming mix of history, local character and spectacular scenery. Spend your days discovering the dramatic Victorian dams and reservoirs of the Elan Valley, exploring miles of walking and cycling trails, or simply wandering Rhayader's independent shops, welcoming cafes and traditional Welsh pubs.

For wildlife lovers, a visit to Gigrin Farm's renowned Red Kite Feeding Centre is an unforgettable experience. Watch as hundreds of red kites gather and wheel effortlessly through the sky in one of the UK's most remarkable wildlife spectacles. Whether you're an avid birdwatcher or simply appreciate the beauty of the natural world, it's a truly memorable sight to behold.

Just a short drive away, Hay-on-Wye offers the perfect day trip. Famed for its world-renowned literary festival and countless independent bookshops, this characterful town has earned its title as the "Town of Books". Spend an afternoon browsing book-lined streets, exploring quirky boutiques and galleries, and lingering over coffee and cake in one of its many inviting cafes. With its creative spirit and timeless charm, Hay-on-Wye is a destination you'll want to return to time and again.

There is one other hideaway onsite should you wish to book a group getaway:Juniper (6133). Both wagons are positioned in a way that you have complete privacy.
