Nestled in the heart of the Shropshire Hills, this unique hideaway is a fairytale getaway, come to life. Only five miles from the Welsh border, this otherworldly structure could have been plucked straight from the pages of a storybook.

Step inside this circular haven and you’ll find wooden walls; branches wrapped in fairy lights and never-ending views of the surrounding countryside. This cosy bolthole for two has everything you’ll need for an enchanting getaway. On one side, you’ll find the kitchenette which features a gas hob, fridge, toaster, kettle and kitchenware for rustling up romantic meals. After a brisk walk in the surrounding countryside, spark up the wood-burner, which also doubles as an oven, and indulge in some delicious slow-cooked treats. For dining, there’s a foldaway dining-table that has a prime position by the large porthole window. You’ll find a selection of boardgames and books to enjoy here too.

Taking centerstage is the sumptuous double bed encircled with twinkling lights and soft linens – we can’t think of a better place to spend lazy mornings than here. Inside, there’s a unique, curved bathroom too, featuring a compostable toilet, wash-basin and a rainfall shower.

Outside, Elfie’s private wrap-around verandah allows you to relax and soak up the infinite views – only punctuated by the amazing wildlife and farm animals you’ll spot. There’s a bench and table to enjoy sun-soaked lunches, as well as a hammock for whiling away peaceful afternoons. Cook up a storm on the charcoal barbecue, with produce from the onsite farm shop, and enjoy the warmth of the chiminea as the sun sinks below the horizon.

If you can tear yourself away from this charming place, you’ll find yourself perfectly situated to explore the best of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape. Start at Clun Valley and follow the meandering river through timeless villages, ancient stone walls and medieval castles (Shropshire is home to the biggest concentration of medieval earthworks anywhere in Britain!). Keep your eyes peeled for Iron Age hillforts, atop many of the hills too.

Just a short drive away, the wonder of Wales calls. Hop over the border to explore the Cambrian foothills, waterfalls and forests. Wales is perfect for some retail therapy too, with plenty of independent shops and cafes bursting with flavourful cakes and galleries to while away your afternoons before retreating to Elfie.
