Tucked away in an enviable position close to the sea on the southernmost point of England, where land meets vast Atlantic horizons and the air carries the scent of seasalt and wild thyme, Tara sits quietly above the sea. A very special place, perfectly placed to immerse yourself in the elemental beauty of The Lizard.

Light-filled, detached and thoughtfully styled, this single storey cottage offers families, friends and coastal explorers a fantastic opportunity to stay in one of Cornwall's most extraordinary landscapes, a stones throw from the dramatic cliffs of the peninsula.

Set on the peaceful outskirts of the friendly village, Tara rests within its own private, enclosed garden, near the owner's home, yet with complete privacy, but is also a gentle stroll from Anskyber (2326). The views are captivating, and stretch gloriously towards Bass Point, a panoramic backdrop of shifting seas and dramatic skies. Inside, a soft palette of light and natural tones enhances the sense of space and calm. The sitting/dining-room is bathed in light, with wide windows framing those unparalleled sea views. On cooler evenings, the wall-mounted LED fire casts a gentle glow and ambience, perfect for curling up after a day spent exploring clifftops and coves. The contemporary kitchen shares the same far-reaching outlook, making even the simplest supper feel like a special occasion.

The generous entrance hall leads to three beautifully presented bedrooms and a modern family shower-room. The king-size bedroom, complete with en suite, offers a peaceful haven for parents, while the versatile 'zip and link' room can be arranged to your preference. The bunk bedroom is ideal for younger adventurers returning from happy outdoor pursuits. Tara lends itself effortlessly to family holidays, multi-generational stays or friends seeking a restorative break by the sea.

The Lizard is unlike anywhere else in Britain. Famed for its serpentine stone and unique geology, this peninsula supports rare flora and fauna found nowhere else in the country, a paradise for botanists, birdwatchers and nature lovers alike. Not far from the doorstep, you can join the iconic South West Coast Path, where sweeping clifftop walks reveal hidden coves, seabird colonies and breathtaking Atlantic views.

The village itself has a warm, welcoming feel and lively events from time to time at the several eclectic eating establishments. Enjoy relaxed drinks, hearty pub classics and lively events at Top House Inn, pick up a traditional Cornish pasty from Ann's Pasties, or indulge in fish and chips from Smugglers Fish and Chips.

The owners thoughtfully include a complimentary cream tea at the cafe at Kynance Cove - best enjoyed before or after a bracing coastal walk, year-round!

A walk towards Kynance Cove rewards you with some of Cornwall's most dramatic scenery - white sands, turquoise water and serpentine cliffs glowing in the sun. Along the way, you'll pass the old Lizard Lifeboat Station at Lizard Point. Setting off in the other direction, you will find the current Lifeboat Station, home to one of the largest lifeboats in the fleet, and a wonderfully welcoming crew who are often happy to share stories of their lifesaving work.

Adventure seekers will find endless opportunity here: wild swimming in sheltered coves, snorkelling and diving in crystal-clear waters, coasteering and paddleboarding along the rugged shoreline. In nearby Cadgwith you can buy fresh fish almost straight from the boat. Horse riding awaits at Newton Equestrian in Mullion and sailing adventures can be arranged with Sailaway St Anthony.
