Seaview is the quintessential Island holiday village, the perfect place to relax and unwind. The local beach is ideal for families, consisting of sand and shingle and overlooking the vast Solent dotted with ancient sea forts. A stroll away Seagrove Bay is wonderful, with a sandy crescent of beach at low tide where you can sit and admire the view, go for an invigorating swim or occasionally watch the local stables exercise the horses. Wander along the boardwalk from here and you will discover Priory Bay, a secluded beach, seldom busy and ideal for some peace and tranquility. Close by, The Boathouse offers traditional pub grub and has a wonderful terrace where you can sit and take in the sea views over lunch or dinner. The village centre is home to an excellent cafe, Lily's, where you will find excellent coffee, cakes and pastries or perhaps freshly prepared sandwiches for your picnic or home-made quiche for dinner. The Seaview Hotel has a maritime bar and restaurant for fine dining or maybe try The Old Fort where the seafood is sublime, served in rustic surroundings with views over the bay (outside seating is available). The local community shop is run by volunteers and has a great selection of local produce, dairy, baked goods and all your holiday essentials. And, for a change of scene, walk along the seafront promenade to the eclectic town of Ryde with a good selection of excellent shops, pier and wonderful sandy beaches. With great local facilities you may decide to stay close to your holiday home, but if you do decide to take the car out and explore further afield the Island has a plethora of interesting places to discover. Osborne House, once home to Queen Victoria and now managed by English Heritage has picturesque gardens, a private beach and stunning house, or perhaps head for west Wight and Freshwater Bay which is really rather magical.
