A short drive from Gorran Haven and the Roseland Peninsula, Portmellon offers beauty both in the surrounding areas and within. With a tidal sandy beach, bathers are offered the opportunity of lounging in the sand or heading around to neighbouring Polkirt beach, accessible at low tide and perfect for snorkelling and rock pool exploring.
If you don't mind jumping in the car, Colona beach is just a short drive away, tucked between Portmellon and Gorran Haven and is definitely worth a visit, especially if you have your pooch with you as it's dog-friendly year-round. Hemmick beach and Vault beach are also found within about ten minutes of Portmellon, and both come with their own appeal and loveliness that shouldn't be missed.
Back to Portmellon and The Rising Sun warmly awaits with a tasty beverage to welcome you back. This cosy waterside inn is found on the edge of Portmellon, with gorgeous views of the cove and is a must for all guests to the area.
