In an idylic setting the the village of Shorwell this pub offers traditional homemade food, real ales and a menu created using local produce. A log fire will keep you warm during winter and there's an outdoor play area in summer for children. Dogs are very welcome.
Situated at the bottom of a steep ravine, this beach is popular with anglers looking to fish for mackerel and bass. Access is via steps carved into the cliff and a rope so great care should be taken! It is possible to walk from Atherfield about two miles up the coast. Good for fossil hunting but watch the tide. Dogs are allowed and there is no lifeguard cover.
Set off in a circle around a spot in the centre of the south of the island. It'll take a couple of hours but is dog friendly but the views are far reaching as you trek over hill and down dale. The National Trust has a free downloadable route on their website.
Come here for the quintessential cream tea holiday, with thatched rooftops and picnics on the village green. There are plenty of tearooms to sample homemade cakes or have a tipple in the tiny cider shop, before walking off the treats in this picturesque location.
Walk to Godshill
Walked from the cottage to Godshill, it's a lovely walk and village to explore. We particularly enjoyed the Model Village. All dog friendly too.

Did seem very quiet
Set in the heart of the countryside, this pub has masses of parking, a huge kids play area, childrens menu and dogs are welcome. Three roaring log fires will keep you toasty in winter.
Meal at The Chequers Inn
We had a lovely meal at The Chequers Inn, the server was excellent, the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. Very dog friendly
Best pub/restuarant we visited durring our stay.
Excellent food, good selection of beers and the friendliest staff you could wish to have serving you.
They made our border collie Mollie really welcome.
This pub is in a great location for walkers and cyclists on the southern most stretch of the island. With good food and a relaxed atmosphere be sure to pop in. There's a large outside seating area for warmer months. Dogs are welcome.
We ate several times at the 'mouse. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is very good and the portions significant. A good food menu and selection of beers. Overall, excellent value for money and well staffed with good service even when busy.

A traditional country pub which uses local produce and even its own home grown herbs from a vegetable patch in the garden. There's a kids play area and a shop selling all sorts of local produce. Dogs are welcome.
A warm welcome
We booked for a meal at The Taverners after first visiting there for a drink earlier in the week. We received a warm friendly welcome and the food was excellent, plenty of choice with daily specials and a bit different to the norm. . The service was excellent and very prompt. Their local brew was also good. I would definitely recommend this establishment and would visit again when I am next on the Isle.
A large area of woodland maintained by the Forestry Commission. There's miles of woodland walks suitable for both walkers and mountain bikers. The red squirrel hide is a great place to spot wildlife from.
Walk in the forest
Lovely place to walk, the dogs loved it but we didn't see any squirrels unfortunately
Great place for a walk and to get close to nature - and we saw a red squirrel!
Beautiful place to walk the dog and the kids!
This pub is slap bang in the middle of Bembridge village and is popular with locals and visitors alike. Parking is fine on the roads nearby. The menu is created using food locally sourced in the village so expect seasonal, fresh produce. Specials change daily and include fish fresh from the local harbour. A pizza oven is the latest addition so freshly made pizza is also on the menu.
Fabulous friendly staff
We used this pub several times as a large family group, with young children and baby. The landlord couldn’t have been more helpful and ensured everyone was happy. The chef was also willing to adapt meals to suit and the serving staff quick and efficient. A really great place to grab a meal.
The Old Village Inn
Lovely atmosphere very welcoming and friendly, food was excellent perfect for us
Old Village Inn
We visited this pub on our first night in Bembridge after booking in advance. Very friendly staff, child friendly menu, well located
Staff really nice food is excellent but book in advance as it can get really busy
Great friendly pub. Went a couple of times and the food was great, the staff were welcoming and the quiz was great fun. Really enjoyed our nights here and wish this was my local.
Friendly, welcoming, something for everyone.
Fabulous find in the village centre. Wide and varied menu, catering for most dietary needs. Staff are incredible. We ate here twice in a row, but I have no doubt that if you were in the area for a week you wouldn't run out of options.
Traditional village pub
I like it here. It's casual, frequented by locals (usually a good sign) and the food is pretty good for a village pub. The meat is from the local butchers and highly recommended.
