Surrounded by miles of countryside and with easy access to the North Devon Link Road, this idyll is the perfect getaway for a family or couples looking for a Devonshire escape, with both Exmoor and the dramatic north coast of Devon only a short car journey away.
The long, tree-lined drive and surrounding green pastures will make you feel immersed in the tranquil countryside as you arrive at The Milk Churn. Pull up to the handy parking and wander over to the charming cottage awaiting you. Open plan living greets you over the threshold where the door leads into the well-equipped kitchen and the all-important dishwasher so no squabbling over the washing up here! The kitchen/dining area leads into the sitting-area with comfy sofas and a characterful dresser full of board games and handy information about local attractions. A wood-burner will keep you toasty during cooler months making The Milk Churn an ideal year-round destination.
Upstairs, to the first floor and you will be greeted by two pretty bedrooms and a bathroom. The double bedroom has a lovely outlook. A dressing table and armchair complete this room, the perfect quiet spot for a holiday read! The twin room is perfect for either children or adults. Enjoy a long blissful soak or a quick refreshing shower after a day's adventures.
Outside you cannot fail to immerse yourself in nature, with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside with Dartmoor even visible in the distance. Al fresco dining here is a must from dawn until dusk! The patio itself is fenced, ideal for the family dog, but please do keep an eye on them as escapologists always find a way.
The Cockerham Estate has 15 acres of enchanting countryside with a collection of four secluded cottages, all private and offering the very best of rural living. The owners live on-site but will always respect your privacy. If you are feeling energetic a tennis court is available (shared with the other cottages).

Once you've settled into The Milk Churn, hop in the car to enjoy some fabulous walks and discover the beauty of this gorgeous county. The north Devon coastline beckons, and surfers will delight in catching the Atlantic rollers on the surfing beaches of Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde.
The villages of Appledore and Instow sit on opposite sides of the Taw estuary and are both wonderful places to visit while Clovelly is a stunning harbour village that is steeped in history. Barnstaple sits in a great location at the mouth of the estuary and is a lovely traditional town with access to the Tarka Trail which is great for walkers and cyclists alike. Discover the wilds of Exmoor and the likes of Dulverton, Exford and the harbour towns of Lynton and Lynmouth.
Should you need any groceries or fancy a bite to eat, South Molton is a thriving market town with independent shops, cafes, restaurants and a lovely twice-weekly pannier market (Thursdays and Saturdays). However you plan to spend your blissful holiday days, The Milk Churn has all the ingredients for the perfect getaway.
