Located in the famous Blackdown Hills near the Somerset and Devon border you will find The Stables. A luxurious one bedroom converted stable which combines original character with modern upgrades. Set on a 24-acre farm in a National Landscape area (formally known as an Area of Outstanding National Beauty), it is a blissful place to switch off, unwind and explore the great outdoors. Its sister property The Byre (6066) is situated just next door so very handy for a dual couples' getaway.

Converted in 2018 The Stables have been carefully crafted to create a spacious and peaceful setting. Natural light floods in and the outlook over the beautiful green fields is very special, especially at sunset.

As you enter the property the sense of scale from the striking, vaulted ceiling in the main living space is impressive and provides a wonderful place to spend time and gaze out of the wall of glass at the gable end. The living space features a modern kitchen which is fully fitted with all the appliances you would expect from such a high-end conversion. The living-room is generous yet cosy and you will love the abundance of peace and quiet on offer.

The Stables has stairs down from the entrance door but from then on is all on one level. On leaving the main living area a corridor beckons you down to the sumptuous vaulted main bedroom with its glorious king-size bed and super-soft linens. Off the main bedroom is a luxury en suite wet-room, complete with comfy robes and slippers.

Heading back down the corridor is a very handy additional wet-room finished to the same impeccable standard as the en suite.

Leading from the main living space you will find French doors that take you out to your private outdoor space. A wonderful, landscaped area with a fire-pit, sun-loungers and plenty of seating for peaceful al fresco dining or a spot of star-gazing – no light pollution here.

Beyond your private patio space you have acres to wander, explore and breathe in the fresh air via the paddock opposite. If that wasn’t enough there is also a stunning open fronted games barn (shared with the owners and available on request) with table-tennis and other fun pastimes to enjoy. Please speak to the owners during your stay should you wish to use this facility, the wonderful friendly owners live on site in the main house but are keen to give guests lots of privacy.

There is parking for two cars only a few yards from the entrance.

If you can tear yourself away from this magical place, then there is much to do and explore locally. You are already amongst the Blackdown Hills with endless walks and cycling opportunities, but venturing a little further out you will find wonderful towns like Taunton, Chard, Wellington, Ilminster and Honiton – all within a 30-minute drive. The Jurassic Coast and its gems like Lyme Regis and Sidmouth are just 40 minutes away.

To keep you stocked up you will find many local supermarkets will deliver as well as organic deliveries from Riverford and Able and Cole.
