Budleigh Salterton is another lovely little coastal town on the Jurassic Coast.

Mount Pleasant Lodge is set in the most stunning gardens in east Devon’s Blackdown Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty above Honiton and an easy drive from the Jurassic Coast.

Offering complete privacy, the semi-detached accommodation is light and contemporary, looking out over the owners’ beautifully maintained extensive grounds which include wildlife ponds, wildflower marsh areas and peaceful woodlands – these gardens are absolutely intended for guests to enjoy, and you are welcome to move the garden furniture around as you please - there are so many vistas to enjoy. Mount Pleasant Lodge offers you your own secluded patio-area as well, where you can have enclosed space if that suits your dog best.

Inside, the Lodge is beautifully presented and exceptionally spacious, with a welcoming wood-burner and WiFi access, this is definitely a place for all seasons. There is a fabulous kitchen/dining-room overlooking the gardens, steps up to the sitting-room, with a further glazed door to the garden, and two double bedrooms are beyond. The king-size room has an en suite wet-room and the family bathroom also has a super shower.

This area is excellent walking country, and there is plenty to explore along country lanes and the network of footpaths that link the hamlets and villages nearby.

Just a short drive away, the renowned Ashill Inn offers real ales, excellent food and a friendly atmosphere, whilst having the added bonus of being dog-friendly too. For the adventurous try a session at the local gliding club just down the road – you will certainly get some panoramic views of the hills that way!

The stunning Jurassic Coast is a very easy drive – you can join it at regency Sidmouth just the other side of Honiton, but don't miss Budleigh Salterton, Beer and Branscombe.
