Step into the entrance hall and you will discover a fascinating seaside escape. The sitting/dining-room has a warming wood-burner to keep you cosy whatever the weather and a Smart TV for entertainment. The L-shaped kitchen is well-equipped with an induction hob, convection oven/grill/microwave (instead of a standard oven) and fridge/freezer; all you need to conjure up supper when not exploring the nearby restaurants and bars with local produce in abundance.
A steep staircase with handrail leads you from the hallway to the double and bunk bedroom and spacious family bathroom, whilst a compact dressing-room offers extra storage for you to unpack and enjoy a relaxing holiday.
The principal bedroom with double bed has fabulous views across The Wash from the two windows, lookout for the colourful skies up above with glorious changing sunsets, a vision to be remembered time and time again.
The second bedroom has full size bunk-beds for kids or adventurous adults also boasting sea views from the two windows. The roomy bathroom is well thoughtout and has a shower over the bath, wash-basin, WC and a handy shaver point. Access to the bathroom from the bunk room is through the double bedroom, however there is a separate WC on the ground floor.
Coastguard Lookout is one of the most iconic buildings in Old Hunstanton. Climb the staircase to the tower and enjoy stunning 270 degree changing views out to sea and towards the town affectionately known as 'Sunny Hunny' with iconic stripy cliffs and bustling High Street. The tower with seating and outstanding views can be enjoyed throughout the seasons. There is also a rooftop terrace and sunken seating area, please be careful.
The Coastguard Lookout Station was built in 1906 as the Marconi Wireless Station which played a prominent part for intelligence during the First World War by intercepting German radio transmissions and tracing the German fleet. The Second World War saw the building continue as a signal station and was visited by his Majesty King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1943, together with Princesses Elizabeth (Queen Elizabeth II) and Margaret, they signed their royal insignias in the coastguard's logbook. There is a commemorative plaque on the building. In 1976 it became a maritime museum eventually closing. New owners carefully restored the building leaving the original features in place.
Located on the edge of Hunstanton, a bustling Victorian seaside town, a variety of shops are located around the bustling High Street and lovely cafes and eateries to explore. Perfect for year-round visits there is plenty of entertainment on your doorstep with a local theatre and an array of fish and chip shops and beach walks to explore against the iconic striped cliffs at low tide.
Old Hunstanton is located near to the lighthouse and Coastguard Lookout, popular with surfers, kite surfers and paragliders that often pass by so elegantly under their colourful sails. The beach cafe of old Hunstanton is a must-see as well as the gallery and pottery close by. Explore the soft sand dunes and wander amongst the colourful beach huts towards Holme-next-the-Sea, a perfect spot for wildlife enthusiasts with its own RSPB reserve to visit.
