KingNestled in a quaint Cornish hamlet, a 15 minute stroll will take you to the sandy beach of Perranuthnoe and further along you will reach the breathtaking St Michael's Mount. Mounts Bay Cottage is a snug barn conversion offering the perfect coastal retreat. Sleeping up to four guests plus a furry friend, the charming, stone-built exterior opens into a warm inviting space, featuring a cosy, open plan living area with exposed beams and wood-burner to warm your toes by on winter evenings.
The area is one of outstanding natural beauty, a walker's paradise and from this delightful cottage you can follow the South West Coast Path with its sea views and rugged cliff trails which are just waiting to be explored. Pack your binoculars as wildlife is plentiful, perch yourself on the cliffs and admire the sweeping views of the Atlantic and listen to the cries of the seabirds, the Cornish coastline is rich with biodiversity and a captivating setting for birdwatching.
Once inside this welcoming home you enter an open plan living area, all recently renovated to offer a touch of luxury with traditional charm. With a newly fitted kitchen to cook up a feast, a cosy sofa to sink into, you can rest yourself after a day's exploring and snuggle up and light the fire. Along the hall with its deep filled window seats, there are two cosy bedrooms. The first with its sumptuous king-size bed and the second with two single beds, separated by a newly fitted bathroom complete with power shower.
Outside is a private courtyard with seating and a charcoal barbecue, ideal for al fresco dining, catch the last of the sun here and share the day's adventures. This space is not enclosed, so please be mindful of small children and your doggy. The gravelled driveway with private parking for one car (additional parking is available close by) is shared with neighbouring property Trebarvah Farmhouse (5589) which sleeps up to nine guests.
For those who wish to explore further afield, this area does not disappoint. Make a day trip to St Ives, leave the car at the station catching the scenic train from St Erth, leading you straight to the sandy bay of Porthminster. Visit the numerous galleries and stop one of the many local cafes.
Stroll along the promenade at Penzance, stop at the Jubilee Pool for a dip in the geothermal pool, and take in the eclectic mix of people in this popular seaside town. Carry on along the coastline to Newlyn, chat to the fishermen and take their advice for the best catch of the day. An ice cream at Jelberts is a must, possibly the best in Cornwall. Further afield book your tickets for the Minack Theatre, for a night of drama under the stars whilst overlooking the turquoise waters of Porthcurno.
