Situated just outside the pretty village of Niton, but tucked away in tranquil seclusion, Stargazers' Retreat (formerly known as Puckaster Cove Hideaway) is the perfect place for an Island escape, whether you are looking for a romantic getaway for two, or an adventure for all the family. A perfect spot all year round.
Enter the open plan living space and it feels like walking into a fairytale. Beautifully furnished to complement fabulous craftmanship, Stargazers' Retreat combines eclectic furnishing and contemporary design with panache. The cosy sitting area has a toasty wood-burner, ideal for warming cooler evenings and an added feature of the yurt to make it the perfect year-round getaway is the central heating, meaning you can wake up nice and warm even in the winter months. The kitchen has all you'll need to cook a holiday meal, so gather everyone around the dining table for a sociable dinner, or perhaps a holiday board game!
At the rear of the yurt a beautifully crafted king-size bed takes centre stage, adorned with gorgeous bed linens for a great night's sleep. For the youngsters in the party, climbing the ladder to the mezzanine level and discovering the gorgeous sleeping space will be a holiday highlight, as will watching the moon and stars through the traditional Toono window. The quirky shower-room is a real feature, with bespoke tiles and a dome ceiling, showering will never have been so appealing.
Wander outside and sit on the fabulous deck with panoramic views over the countryside and out towards the sea. A gorgeous shelter provides respite from the Island sunshine whilst you barbecue, or perhaps this quiet spot is just the place for a peaceful read, choices, choices! You can even sit in blissful seclusion in your own al fresco bathtub and watch the stars come out, the perfect way to bathe in nature. From the moment the ferry sets sail across the Solent to the magical Isle of Wight, your Island adventure will begin and with the perfect combination of beautiful beaches, miles of coastal walks and stunning countryside on the doorstep, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring. Stargazers' Retreat sits on the southerly edge of the Island, close to the village of Niton where you can stock up on holiday goodies at the local shop or dine out at one of the traditional pubs. Surrounded by idyllic countryside, walkers should head to St Catherine's lighthouse for stunning views or perhaps wander down to Castle Haven beach, a hidden gem.
Just a short drive away, the town of Ventnor is perfect for eclectic shops, a good range of eateries and a traditional beach front where you can hire deckchairs and watch the waves whilst enjoying an ice cream. Whilst you are here, visit Ventnor Haven Fishery where you can pick up the freshest of the days catch to cook at home, or maybe visit the botanic gardens where horticulturalists will enjoy spending time. For a special treat head to The Royal Hotel for afternoon tea, well you are on holiday! A little further afield Freshwater is a water sports paradise, ideal for swimmers, kayakers and paddle boarders and if you've worked up an appetite try the Piano Cafe for fabulous homecooked food in a quirky cafe.
A getaway on the Island would not be complete without seeing the iconic Needles, so why not spend the day, take the chairlift at Alum Bay (not for the fainthearted but there are steps as an alternative), and a speedboat to take you for a close-up view. You never know, you could even spot the odd dolphin!
This coastline on the island has been voted in the top ten spots across the UK for stargazing, there is a very impressive display on clear evenings of beautiful star constellations.
You can even hire an E-bike from Zoom E-Bike Hire in the village and explore the many picturesque cycling routes nearby, all with minimal traffic.

Please supervise children around the rope fence as there is a drop and also on the ladder to the mezzanine as there are no railings. There are a number of steps from the parking area to the property therefore it may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility. Stargazers' Retreat has two exterior baths but it does not have a hot tub.

To the left of the hideaway, you'll see a smaller neighbouring yurt. Both properties have plenty of privacy, with their own secluded outdoor spaces.

St Catherine's Light House sits on the most southerly tip of the Island, is just a stroll away.

One of the Island's hidden secrets, discover Castle Haven beach just down the lane from the lighthouse.

Surrounded by gorgeous countryside, this southerly part of the Island is very special.

Walkers can pick up the coast path and enjoy miles of stunning scenery.

A short drive away is magical Freshwater Bay, ideal for kayaking, swimming and surfing.

Take the chairlift to the beach for a fabulous view of the iconic Needles.

Head to Totland Bay for crystal clear waters and beachside dining at The Hut.

Ventnor Botanic Gardens are worth a visit throughout the seasons.

Osborne House is simply fabulous and a day can be spent enjoying the house, gardens and Queen Victoria's private beach.

Yarmouth is home to the Wightlink ferry and a great selection of eclectic shops and eateries.
