Nestled in a secluded spot, Posy is a gorgeous shepherd's hut where every last detail has been thought of. The natural, peaceful setting provides the perfect escape to the countryside and you are sure to totally switch off and relax.

Inside, the shepherd's hut is thoughtfully designed with a cosy wood-burning stove and easy chairs; perfect for curling up with a hot chocolate on those autumnal evenings. During the day you can also enjoy watching the characterful ponies that live in the adjacent field. When your tired eyes are ready for sleep, simply pull down the full-size double bed from the wall and snuggle up. A compact but perfectly-formed shower-room completes the space in the hut.

Outside there is a rustic open air kitchen that has a camping stove with two burners and a grill; great for rustling up a cooked breakfast. Even when the weather is less kind you can use this unique space thanks to the roll down awnings. There is also a fire-pit barbecue with an oven compartment which can be used for cooking jacket potatoes or keeping food warm. Should the weather be particularly poor then the owner is very happy to cook breakfast and/or dinner for you (at an additional cost).

The cherry on the top of this glorious hideaway is a fabulous wood-fired hot tub where you can spend moonlit evenings soaking away with nothing but the sounds of the countryside and views of the star-filled sky.

The friendly but unobtrusive owners live in the nearby farmhouse and are on hand should you need them but you are assured of total privacy. On your arrival you will have a selection of goodies, including fresh eggs from the friendly on-site hens. For something extra special, the owner is happy (on prior request and for an additional cost) to arrange surprises such as a food hamper, champagne or a bouquet of country garden flowers.

You couldn't be blamed for not wanting to leave this special spot however should you feel a yearning to explore then there is lots nearby on offer. A short drive away is the historic village of Barrington where there are picturesque thatched cottages, a National Trust Tudor manor house (Barrington Court) and a friendly local pub, The Barrington Boar, which serves delicious food. The local market town of Ilminster is certainly worth a visit, particularly for the Minster Church that dates to 1450.

For rambling country walks, you'll be spoilt for choice as Posy is superbly located for exploring a number of natural beauty spots including the glorious Quantock Hills, the unspoilt Blackdown Hills and slightly further afield rugged Exmoor National Park. For cycling enthusiasts, the Somerset Levels are cycling heaven, offering a number of routes to explore including the South Somerset Cycleway along the River Parrett to Langport. After all that exercise, stop for lunch at the Lamb and Lion pub in Langport with views across the Levels.

Elsewhere, the foodie heaven of Lyme Regis is under an hour's drive in the car and offers an array of restaurants and cafes, as well as a sandy beach which is a wonderful spot to sit and watch the sunset.
