The Old School House is part of a converted Victorian school building set in a residential street above the town centre, so it's just a few minutes' walk down to the shops, pubs, restaurants and bars (longer on the way back!). This is a perfect holiday base, suited to both families and couples alike, with comfortable, spacious accommodation and two private parking spaces.
Access to the property is down a flight of steps from the car park and along the path; you can enter this comfortable home, drop your bags and relax.
The Old School House has a large sitting-room with patio doors out onto the wide wrap-around balcony, from where the ever-changing activity out on the water can be enjoyed. There are books, games, DVDs and an Xbox to help keep all ages amused, although the views will almost certainly take precedence.
The fully equipped kitchen/dining-area has French doors leading onto the enclosed patio, prettily planted with shrubs. There is plenty to do in town, and several sandy beaches less than a mile away offering various watersports tuition, kayak and dinghy hire. There is a friendly local pub a short walk down the road and access to The Moor – home to several pubs and eating places – down the steep steps of Jacob's Ladder, one of Falmouth's most iconic heritage sites.
Ferries from the nearby Prince of Wales Pier sail to Flushing, Truro, St Mawes and the beautiful Helford River, where gardens at Glendurgan and Trebah are a delight to explore.
