With several walking routes from here to other gorgeous locations nearby, it’ll be hard to stay indoors. We recommend walking to Talland Bay or further afield to Looe, taking in the monastery, the many shipwrecks and remnants of smugglers on the way.
If you’re looking for something to do in Polperro, the quaint model village makes for an interesting afternoon trip, followed by dinner in Nelson’s or another one of the local pubs or restaurants. On a sunny day, grab a crabbing line and head to the harbour. Spend the day getting excited about finding some amazing creatures of the sea or let the kids find their own while you relax in the sunshine with a good book. Be sure to take a bucket to keep your finds in before returning them to their watery homes at the end of the day.
Not far from Polperro, there’s Looe. A beautiful fishing town complete with lobster cages and fresh seafood. Further east there’s the Wild Futures Monkey Sanctuary, a fun day out for animal lovers of all ages. To the west of Polperro, you'll find Polruan where you can cross the river to visit the charismatic town of Fowey. Fowey has plenty of tiny streets filled with shops to explore and plays host to an annual literary festival. Make the most of your day out and stop off in one of the many restaurants or pubs in Fowey to experience some south Cornwall cuisine.
