Nearby pub

Since re-opening in late 2019, the local village pub is once again a favourite place to visit for both locals and visitors. This traditional thatched roof pub is community owned so call in for great locals beers and locally sourced food.

Nearby beach

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

With stunning views across Lyme Bay, this shingle beach stretches for about a mile. Take your swimmers, this is a good swimming beach and ideal for kayaking. If you'd rather not walk on the pebbles there's a flat esplanade which is much easier going.

Very enjoyable time spent here

We spent several hours at Seaton, were lucky to have a beautiful day do spent the whole time on the beach watching the world go by, on leaving we visited the local supermarket to stock up on supplies, lovely day

Beer

The walk from Seaton to Beer is well worth the effort. Either using the coastal path or footpath from the end of Seaton beach to Beer makes a good walk to be rewarded by the prettiest of bays.

Nearby walk

Park in the village car park and follow the directions on the Web site along footpaths and lanes, through farmland and along the banks of the Corry Brook. This walk is approximately four and a half miles and should take around two and a half hours.

Nearby town

Radiating out for over 140 miles from where we've marked as a centrepoint, this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty straddles the Devon and Somerset border. The Blackdown Hills paint a picture of the quintessential image of rural England. Rolling hills and deep valleys, sparsely populated except for the grazing cattle, it is the perfect destination for a classic countryside retreat. Criss-crossed with footpaths and country lanes linking the tiny hamlets and villages together, this is idyllic walking country.

Also nearby

A truly beautiful 10 acre garden with unusual plants and stunning views. You will also find a tearoom, gift shop and nursery here.

A lovely walk.

This is a lovely place to visit whether you choose to pay and walk around the grounds, as we have done, or just have something to eat and browse the garden centre. The food is excellent and walks peaceful. We have never been without coming away with some plants for our garden.

A gardeners paradise

A 10 acre garden which has been lovingly created by the family of an ex-dairy farmer. The garden has lots of interest, including the Millenium garden styled around a beautiful trickling stream and a large woodland garden including some of the biggest giant rhubarb we've ever seen. There is a great little tea room serving hard earned tea and cake after you've explored the gardens. There is a nursery selling plants reared at the gardens and other garden essentials. Everything we've bought from them has thrived, so they clearly take great care in what they produce. There is a large landscaping business run by their son attached to the gardens, with further stocks of shrubs and trees to explore.

A traditional country pub offering a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Food is locally sourced and Sunday lunch is very popular. In summer, dine alfresco and enjoy the views from the raised terrace and beer garden.

Amazing Sunday Roast

We came here for Sunday lunch which was the best roast I’ve had in a while! Great portion, good quality meat and a lovely selection of vegetables. Staff were really friendly from the start when we booked over the phone until it was sadly time to leave.

A dog friendly pub In the middle of no where but well worth the drive. Would highly recommend.

The Cotley Inn

Fabulous Sunday lunch, also good mid week menu. Food is locally sourced where possible, but this is very popular place to eat so best to book, for Sunday lunch you would definitely need to. Nice staff and atmosphere too.

You will find something for everyone here with pretty gardens to sit in and enjoy a cream tea to pick your own fruit to keep the kids occupied. The farm shop serves local produce including home made pies and of course pasties!

Brilliant local treasure!

Royal Oak serves really great home made lunches and cream teas. The farm shop is small but perfectly formed, making sure you can stock up on everything from very locally produced meat to biscuits and fruit and veg grown on site. They also do pick your own, a great way to entertain the kids.

Birthday celebration!

Ten of us enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal (the smoked chicken starter was particularly good) with fantastic wines at The Holt. There were plenty of waiting staff who made us feel very welcome.
