Welcome to a traditional pub with thatched roof and warm welcome. The building itself is dates back to medieval times and inside it gives a nod to history with sisal flooring and ancient beamed ceilings. There's a good selection of real ales plus cidr and lagers. You can dine inside or out depending on the weather and food is served everyday apart from Mondays.
This is a wide sandy and shingle beach with good access and parking nearby. Jacobs Ladder leads down to the beach from Connaught Gardens, a lovely place to take in the view. A great family beach, you'll find lots of facilities and cafes nearby. Dogs are allowed year round at the easterly end of the beach.
A gentle one mile circular walk around lovely woodland. If you visit in early May you will see the woodland at its very best when the bluebells are in bloom.
Once famous for lace-making, now renowned for its busy antiques trade. Georgian houses line the streets and give Honiton the perfect atmosphere for a spot of antique shopping.
Lots of character
Lots of small local shops to enjoy in this small town
You will find a lovely relaxed area downstairs with comfy sofas and upstairs a light and airy dining area. Food is prepared in an open kitchen which adds to the vibrant and lively atmosphere!
Great food and atmosphere
Coping well with Covid restrictions, had great atmosphere .
A short menu, included the most delicious fish sharing platter to start, and amazing sea bream main course.
Hope they can open up again soon....
Although we didn't eat, the food looked excellent, the beer was good and the general ambience wonderful. Would highly recommend
Ten of us enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal (the smoked chicken starter was particularly good) with fantastic wines at The Holt. There were plenty of waiting staff who made us feel very welcome.
If you're an aviation fanatic, this modern coffee bar and restaurant suitated on the edge of Dunkeswell Airfield, will be right up your street! It's also popular with families as it offers a warm welcome and extensive menu with something to suit everyone. Check out their live music events and themed nights if you fancy something different.
As my partner is a pilot it was inevitable we would need to visit the airfield.... usually these places are quite basic and food is obligatory greasy spoon type fare....but not here in Dunkeswell! Very impressed and very helpful staff. Food great and very reasonably priced too and dogs are welcome. The location of the outdoor seating also means you get an excellent view of aircraft both landing, taking off and parking up....
A family run pub and restaurant which offers local ales and ciders to compliment the locally sourced menu.
Glad we pre booked as the pub was full. Great service, lovely food, and we could take the dog inside.
Excellent food and service
A refurbished Grade II Listed historic coaching inn where families and dogs are welcome and free internet access is available.
Great Food - reasonably priced
We visited this pub twice during our stay at Snaffles Lodge. Both times we ate from the new summer menu. All the food was very good and well presented. We had for starters the scallops, the octopus and the duck - all yummy. And mains we went for the steak, the veggie noodles, the chicken Caesar salad , the Parmesan chicken and not forgetting the fish and chips. All were just perfect, if this is a temporary menu whist they attract new owners, then I can’t wait to go back and try the full one later. Highly recommended
You will find something for everyone here with pretty gardens to sit in and enjoy a cream tea to pick your own fruit to keep the kids occupied. The farm shop serves local produce including home made pies and of course pasties!
Brilliant local treasure!
Royal Oak serves really great home made lunches and cream teas. The farm shop is small but perfectly formed, making sure you can stock up on everything from very locally produced meat to biscuits and fruit and veg grown on site. They also do pick your own, a great way to entertain the kids.
