Chy Lowen

Perhaps one of the most fascinating views in Falmouth, Chy Lowen sits in an elevated position above the harbour, with an ever-changing outlook across the water. From small sailing boats and yachts maybe returning home, to naval ships and cruise liners visiting Falmouth, there is always something to watch, and binoculars are thoughtfully provided to follow every coming and going from the comfort of the house. Or, if you prefer, you can curl up and read one of the many books from the bookshelves.

The main living area at the heart of the property is open plan, with the kitchen-area, dining-area and living-room arranged to make the most of the incredible views. Gather around the table for long holiday breakfasts while the water reflects the sunshine or settle into a comfortable chair and simply watch coastal life unfold. During cooler months, the coal-effect electric fire creates a cosy place to retreat after a day spent exploring Falmouth and beyond.

Arranged over three practical levels, Chy Lowen works particularly well for families with older children or groups who appreciate having a little space of their own. On the lower ground floor, there is a double bedroom with an en suite shower-room, a twin bedroom and a generous family bathroom with a gorgeous free-standing bath, and separate shower. Doors lead out onto the terrace a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee as the town and harbour begin to stir or relax with an evening aperitif.

The upper floor feels almost like a hideaway of its own, with another twin bedroom, a shower-room, and a separate sitting-area. It is a particularly useful space for older children and teenagers, giving them somewhere separate to relax whilst still being very much part of the holiday.

The location is incredible. Falmouth's shops, restaurants and bustling harbour are all down the steps nearby, within walking distance; and the Sea View Inn is not far away, simply head up the opposite steps, for a drink or something to eat. There are good walks in every direction too, with the path around Pendennis Head offering scenic views and plenty of places to stop with independent vendors selling local ice cream.
