DoubleOverlooking the village green of Sandhurst, Kent, in the beautiful High Weald National Landscape (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), this wonderfully spacious, semi-detached cottage offers the perfect setting for families and friends looking to explore the coast and countryside, shaped by vineyards, hop farms and cherry orchards.
From the moment you arrive you are sure to feel relaxed as you step inside this home from home, dog-friendly cottage. A welcoming hallway leads to two spacious sitting-rooms, one with a cosy wood-burning stove and a kitchen/diner that’s fully equipped for rustling up some family favourites.
There are two enclosed gardens, one with a view of the village clock tower and for some green exercise - a yoga platform. The gardens are perfect for entertaining and al fresco dining, there is also a large fire-pit where you can sit and take in the dark twinkling night skies.
As the evening winds down, make your way upstairs to the first floor, where you’ll find a family bathroom and three generously sized bedrooms: a king, a double and a twin that can be arranged as a super-king if pushed together. Continue to the second floor where there is a double bedroom and en suite shower-room.
Now get ready to organise your time here in Kent and neighbouring Sussex. Perhaps book a wine tasting tour at one of the local vineyards, there is Oastbrook Estate Vineyard, Chapel Down, Balfour Winery, Gusbourne Estate and Biddenden.
Visit Royal Tunbridge Wells known for its Chalybeate spring water. Wander about the pretty Pantiles or its super shopping complex.
Enjoy a day in the medieval town of Rye with its pretty cobbled streets and array of antiques shops, independent retailers, pubs and restaurants. It is also home to the annual Rye Jazz, Arts and Scallop Festivals. There is also Tenterden, a beautiful market town known as the Jewel of the Weald which has several eateries, a museum and many independent and high street shops.
Pack a picnic and head to the coast of Camber Sands with its beautiful golden beach and sand dunes or visit the iconic landscape of Dungeness. There's also Hastings, Bexhill-on-Sea, Winchelsea, Pevensey Bay and Eastbourne. Take the train with the Kent and East Sussex Railway and enjoy a ride through the beautiful Rother Valley and Wealden countryside. Or perhaps take a boat along the River Rother which leads to Bodiam Castle.
