Known as the surfing mecca of the southwest, Croyde is a charming seaside village with a good selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and surf shacks. The area is designated National Landscapes, reflecting the stunning surrounding countryside and coast and perfect for adventurers, walkers, surfers or those looking for an escape from the everyday.
From beginners to experts, surf lessons can be booked locally for any standard. Walkers should head out along the coast path for the most breathtaking scenery or maybe pick up the Tarka Trail (named after Tarka the Otter) with 180 miles of looping footpaths, trails and bridleways through stunning countryside and along the coast. Golfers have plenty of choice including Saunton, an award-winning club with two championship courses, or Mortehoe and Woolacombe with nine-holes and gorgeous panoramic views.
