A quick saunter from the iconic surfing beach of Croyde in beautiful north Devon you'll find Summer Shores, a dog-friendly three-bedroom beach house with a sunny, enclosed garden.

Step through the porch and into house. Inside, the front room is decorated in soothing neutral tones, coastal blues and touches of wood, making it an inviting space to relax. There's a TV perfect for unwinding with a film after a day spent surfing or building sandcastles. Alternatively, throw open the attractive French doors and embrace the blend of indoor-outdoor living.

Back inside there's a spacious open plan kitchen/diner kitted out with everything you need to make the best holiday breakfasts, picnics and feasts. In the timeless wood and metro tiled kitchen you'll find a range of modern appliances, a double Belfast sink, ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. The chunky wooden dining-table can seat six, perfect for tucking into a hearty bowl of porridge or an epic fry-up before heading out to explore this captivating corner of north Devon.

There's three bedrooms in total, sleeping up to six guests. You'll find a family shower-room and a double bedroom with garden access on the ground floor, meaning this property could work for guests with restricted mobility. Climb the stairs to reach the other two bedrooms, a double and a twin, along with the family bathroom.

Outside boasts a generous south-facing terrace and lawn, a premium crowd-free sunbathing spot. The garden is fully enclosed, making it a fantastic choice for those travelling with children or a dog. And while the garden enjoys an enviable southerly aspect, the mature shrubs and trees provide plenty of shady spots too. The terraced area is home to an outside dining set seating up to six, just the ticket for everything from the first morning brew to sunset al fresco dining.

There's also parking for two cars, so no suitcase lugging required. Hurrah!

If you're looking for a memorable seaside holiday in the South West, you can't go wrong with Croyde. It's packed full of family-friendly facilities and it's buzzy, affable atmosphere makes it a top choice for a relaxed summer holiday in the UK.

Known best for its legendary surf status, Croyde attracts water sports fans from all over. If you're keen to give it a go there are plenty of surf shops and schools where you can rent boards or arrange a lesson. If surfing's not your cup of tea, perhaps a rockpool ramble to learn more about the local marine wildlife would be? If you tire of Croyde (impossible!) there's the nearby beaches of Saunton and Woolacombe too.

Walkers are well looked after here, Croyde boasts numerous nature trails and there's some jaw dropping vistas to be had on the coast path. Why not take the short circular route out along the western edge of Baggy Point? For just a couple of miles of effort you'll be rewarded with mesmerising coastal views over Croyde Bay, Woolacombe and even as far as Lundy Island on a clear day. Keep your eyes peeled and you might spot seabirds, seals and dolphins too. The charming village itself is well worth a wander, there's plenty of tempting eateries, traditional pubs and surf shops to keep you busy.

Beyond the village you could hire a bike and cycle along the famous Tarka Trail, visit a local stable and trek through the countryside or grab your clubs and head to Saunton Golf Club for a round. There's plenty to keep families busy in north Devon, whether you fancy a day trip to a zoo, thrill seeking at a theme park or a memorable boat ride out to sea. However you choose to spend your valuable holiday time, Summer Shores makes for a wonderful beach house base.
