SingleA gorgeous Cornish cottage just over a mile from the golden sands of Holywell Bay, tucked away in a peaceful hamlet - the perfect holiday destination. Located on a quiet country lane this charming, detached chocolate box cottage has four bedrooms, lots of outside space and your four-legged friends are most welcome too.
Arrive and admire the pretty cottage before stepping into the inviting open plan living and dining space settled either side of the staircase. The cosiness of a toasty wood-burner entices you into the sitting-room, snuggle up on one of the sofas and catch a movie or curl up with your favourite book. Adjoining this room, you will find a more formal dining-room with another warming wood-burner. This old cottage is so charming with thick walls and low beamed ceilings in place making it ever so cosy.
Further in you are welcomed into the classic farmhouse-style kitchen, which is always the hub of the house. The light and spacious kitchen is beautifully designed complete with a beautiful floors, double electric range cooker, traditional Belfast sink and that all-important dishwasher. Perfect for breakfast at the start of the day on the antique pine table with comfortable seating in here for four. Outside the kitchen is a covered patio area with a comfortable lounging sofa to relax on after a day on the beach.
There are four lovely bedrooms in this cottage. The first bedroom is found on the ground floor with twin beds and a fun seaside theme, located through the dining-area; this is perfect for a multigenerational party. Upstairs three further delightful bedrooms await you; the main bedroom has a king-size bed and is styled in wonderfully calming tones; the pretty double bedroom is decorated beautifully in floral fabrics and matching wallpaper and the sweet single bedroom perfect for one. There is a shower-room on the ground floor and a stunning family bathroom on the first floor, with a traditional roll-top bath, it is perfect for a relaxing soak after a busy day, and you also have a large shower which is perfect for washing salty hair and sandy toes.
Outside there is plenty of space to play, soak up the sun or just sit quietly and plan the days ahead. Steps take you up to a lovely sized gently sloping lawn, great for a run about for the pooch or some post beach games - or even lying on the lawn with a good book listing to nothing but the bird song. The decking area is tucked in a sheltered nook with where two sun loungers await you. Enjoy long relaxing lunches on the outside table and chairs on the patio or steal a moments tranquillity on the bistro set outside the ground floor bedroom - the garden is so wonderful you might not want to venture out for the day.
Your four-legged friends will feel very at home here and will love exploring the fields and coastal paths which are quite literally on your doorstep! The walk from Tresean to Holywell Bay is lovely and further afield (thirty minutes on foot to be exact or just over a mile in the car) you come to Crantock. Crantock feels like a different Cornwall, a reminder of times lived at a slower pace. The village has narrow lanes and old stone cottages surrounded by beautiful gardens, a small village green and two ancient pubs. The nearby beach is backed by dunes, with the wildlife-rich grasslands of Rushy Green rising up behind them. At the far end of the beach is the headland of Pentire Point West with lovely Polly Joke beach, completely unspoilt and popular in early summer before the beaches become too crowded.
Nearby St Agnes is a friendly and welcoming village with award-winning eateries, several pubs, galleries and independent shops galore. This is a beautiful part of Cornwall to explore, its dramatic coastline dotted with tumbledown mine buildings, relics of Cornwall's tin mining industry (and scene of many a Poldark episode).
For those wishing to explore further afield, the Eden Project, the popular seaside resort of St Ives, the shopping city of Truro and the maritime town of Falmouth all make an easy day excursion and are just a short drive away.
Old Kiddlywink truly is the perfect choice for an unforgettable family holiday in Cornwall.
